St Luke’s CE Academy, ENDON ‘Helping Lights Shine For All’ Issue 6 – 31 st May 2020 Updates... Hello everyone, it’s been a little while since the last newsletter as we have been very busy preparing the school for the return of Y6, Y1 and Reception. I hope you all got the chance to view the video created by Miss Kate on our website, to see the changes we have made to keep everyone safe. Although school may look a little different it still feels like the same old St Luke’s we all know and love. We can’t wait to see more of you and look forward to hearing what you have been up to over the last 9 weeks. In school this week… This week we were closed for May half-term but prior to this we got up to the following: We picked the winner of the NHS poster competition. Congratulations to Esme in Year 5. This meant such a lot to Esme as the NHS helped to look after her Nanna when she was very poorly. We wish your Nanna a speedy recovery. We celebrated the end of what would have been the Y6 Sat’s week by holding a virtual pizza party. Here are some the pictures from our party. Florence in Year 4 organised a Keep fit session for the children in school. Mr Stokes used it as part of our wake up, shake up warm-up. Staff updates this week… All the teachers have been busy writing your end of year reports ready to share with you on the 1 st July. I am so proud of some of the things you have achieved in the two terms we were at school and since then whilst in lockdown. Don’t forget to keep sharing your achievements with your teachers on the homelearning emails. Mrs Hill has also been in touch with the High schools to discuss the Y6’s transition and has set some end of year projects to keep the Y6 legacy going, including researching which charities we will be supporting in the next academic year. Watch this space!
