The most profound changes in my faith life began several

years ago when I started a gratitude practice.

Every morning I write in my gratitude journal—ten things I am

thankful for and why. My list includes the biggest blessings

and the simplest things. I am grateful for a hot bath because it

reminds me of God’s warmth and love.

When I first started this practice, I began to deeply realize all

the good things God put in my life on a regular basis. The little

irritations had less impact on me. I began to thank God in

advance rather than make petitions. Sometimes I can even

muster the mustard seed to thank God for the things I don’t

like and don’t want. This is the biggest change of all.

I am thankful for setbacks or disappointments because I trust

that God has something so much better on the way. I am

thankful for the practice of gratitude because it changes my

life.

Saving God’s Earth ONE Cap at a Time! I want to thank all of you who have so faithfully saved your plastic caps for our various recycling projects. To date we have helped save 5,100 pounds of plastic caps from the landfill. St. Joe has two benches, Montessori has one bench, Nazareth has one bench, Bloomfield Library has one bench, Bardstown Baptist Church has one bench, Marion County School has one bench and the Marion County Library has three benches and a picnic table. . . .all made from the caps we’ve helped them save! Each bench takes 400 pounds and the picnic table takes 1100 pounds. Currently we are helping Washington County Extension Office get a picnic table and maybe some benches for their new facility in Springfield. One plastic cap seems so insignificant but put it with thousands of other caps and we can make a real difference for good. There is a plastic bin in the back of the church and in Flaget Hall for your contributions. Thanks and God bless you for caring for God’s earth! Marie Seaman SFCC

We will continue to distribute envelopes with

tickets for St. Joseph’s Annual Super Raffle to be

picked up after Masses. Each of our parish

families is asked to sell or buy 5 raffle tickets.

Your help with the Super Raffle is very much

appreciated. St. Joseph Parish depends on the

proceeds to fill in many financial gaps that occur during

the fiscal year. That is why we ask every parish family to participate. During the year, we all benefit.

If you have already sold your chances, would you consider taking another set to sell? We need
