12/1 - "Go In Peace” (After the 11am Mass in the Teen Room) - What does it mean to go in peace? How can you bring peace to others? How does the Mass prepare you for this?

12/8 - "Christmas Party” (After the 11am Mass in the Teen Room) - This will be our last Life Teen event for the Fall Semester. We are going to celebrate with Christmas games and festivities!

Elementary classes began the week of September 9th. There is information on all programs and opportunities for the 2019-2020 year on the website and in the Church and Parish Office.

Please make sure your child is registered before coming to class. Registration is closed to all children receiving sacraments in the spring of 2020. Children attending Catholic School, but wanting to celebrate their sacraments with the Parish need to register for the second semester only in January.

Confirmation and First Communion will be celebrated by Bishop Olmsted on Sunday, April 19th at 2pm. You can still register in the Parish Office through the week, anytime of the year, for Kindergarten, First, Fourth and Fifth Grades.

Howdy,

As it was announced last week, Bishop Olmsted has now appointed me pastor of St. Bernard. We discussed this and my “retirement” and decided this was the right move to make. Bishop Olmsted will be here Sunday, December 1st to install me officially.

Also, after discussing with the new liturgy committee and with our staff, I have decided to move our Thanksgiving Mass to 10a.m. It is our hope that more of you will be able to attend. Remember that Thanksgiving was originally a celebration of thanks to God, with a meal; in today’s secular society it is a celebration of food and maybe football.

Let us set a good example to our community and begin by thanking God.

Once again we are appealing to you, our generous parishioners, to donate groceries, diapers, and personal items for families of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Phoenix. Please, no perishable items.

Grocery bags will be distributed at all Masses on the weekend of November 16 & 17, 2019. Please return your filled bags on the weekend of November 23 & 24, 2019 at any Mass.

The bags can be placed on the altar steps or given to one of the Vincentians.

Safe Environment News All Volunteers in any Parish Ministry …... Please Note: There are many changes to the safe environment process in the Diocese of Phoenix this year. There are fliers in the Church foyer, the Parish Office and our Website (under Parish Ministries) with an explanation of how to access the new training website. Anyone serving in Parish Ministry must complete Safe Environment Training by December 31, 2019 to remain active in ministry.
