Scheduling Notes

This is the final week to vote in our Parish Council election. Registered members, 18

years of age and older, are eligible to vote once. Nominees’ bios and pictures are in

ads run weekly for six months in our printed bulletins and are also published on the

Feast of the Ascension

Today as we celebrate Jesus’ ascension to heaven, let’s join His disciples in lifting

our hearts and minds heavenward as we pray:

Lord Jesus, we praise You on this feast of hope and triumph! We adore you, Lord,

seated at the Father’s right hand! You have taken Your place of glory and authority—

the place reserved for You, the eternal Son of God. You left it for a short time when

You came to earth to redeem us, but now You are enthroned in the heavens. And we

have been raised up with You….Jesus, today is a day to celebrate! We gaze on Your

glory and know that all things are in Your hands! Amen.

May 27/28 & June 3/4: Father’s Day Mums for Sale

St. Anne's Council of Catholic Women will sell Father’s Day

Mums in the Commons Area before & after Masses

May 27/28 and June 3/4. If you would like to donate a mum

in honor of or in memory of your father, or other loved ones,

each mum is $5. Mums will be displayed on the altar on

Father's Day weekend, June 17/18. There will also be an

insert in the bulletin listing the donors & names submitted.

May 29: Knights of Columbus’ Memorial Day Mass

The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus' Annual Memorial

Day Mass honoring those who died while serving our country

will be celebrated Mon., May 29 at 11 a.m. at Andersonville

National Historic Site in Andersonville, Ga. A free hot dog &

hamburger picnic lunch will be served following Mass,

weather permitting. Consider bringing a salad, side dish or

dessert to share. Dress is casual. Should it rain, Mass will be

celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Americus, Ga.

June 13: Charismatic Healing Service

St. Anne Church’s Family Prayer Mission Ministry will host a

Charismatic Healing Service with Mass and Adoration at

St. Anne Church on Tue., June 13 from 2 until 7 p.m.

The service will be led by an evangelist, Fr. Dominic

Valanmanal from India, who is gifted in deliverance and

healing. There will be anointing, prayer and laying of hands

on the sick. The service will be followed by a light supper.

June 19-23: Vacation Bible School

VBS will take place in Visitation Hall June 19-23 from 9 a.m.

to Noon each day. During VBS, students will discover how

Mary brings us closer to Jesus through the power of the

Rosary. Adult volunteers are still needed to help make VBS a

success. Register to volunteer at stannecsg.com/vbs. VBS

participant and youth volunteer registration is now closed

June 23: Contemporary Couples’ Club Summer Social

The Contemporary Couples’ Club’s next social is Fri., June 23

at 6:30 p.m. at the Columbus home of Brian and Rene

McEvoy, 9022 Cimarron Court. Enjoy dinner and fellowship

with friends! Bring your own beverages. Cost to attend is $30

per couple, and your check is your reservation. Please mail

June 25: BINGO

Bring the family for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and a

friendly game of BINGO on Sun., June 25 at 2 p.m. in

St. Anne Church’s Visitation Hall! Please bring a $5-$10 door

prize which will be worth three Bingo cards. Light

refreshments will be provided; you are welcome to bring your

own, too!

June 25: Baptism Class

Parents interested in having their child baptized at St. Anne

Church must attend a Baptism Class. Our next class is Sun.,

June 25 in the Youth Room at 11:30 a.m. Registration

“I am praying for them…” JOHN 17: 9

Prayer is the foundation of our Faith and the foundation of

Stewardship. Pray in good times and in bad. Prayer is

always the first best option in any situation, not just the

last resort. Pray for friends and family and for those who

don’t treat you very well. Pray to give praise, to thank and

to ask God for help. Pray to see what God wants you to do

with the gifts He has given you.

At the time of publication, these numbers had not yet been

updated by the Diocesan BAA Office.

Please support this year’s Bishop’s Annual Appeal to help

provide education and formation of our seminarians, to

assist in charity to the poor and to educate our children

and grandchildren in the faith. Donation envelopes are

High School Youth Group Meeting

Our parish’s High School Youth Group will go whitewater

rafting on the Chattahoochee River for its last gathering of

2016-17! The group will meet on Sat., June 4 at 5 p.m. on

the Georgia side of Whitewater Express. Cost to attend is

Catechists Needed

Our Religious Education programs teach scripture,

doctrines, beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church. We

offer classes September through May to children ages

Pre-K through 8th grades from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Our

program has a number of 2017-18 openings for people

who wish to share their Catholic faith with children. Please
