Each year thousands of dollars go to high school graduates and college students who are furthering their education to better serve their families, their country and themselves. Since 2001, $274,351 has been awarded in scholarships, which includes the $51,801 awarded this year. These scholarships are awarded to family members of members of our 101st Airborne Division Association. Next year we are expanding on our program so we can do even more for our families. We now offer to “name” a Chappie Hall Scholarship to honor or remember individuals as designated by the donor. Scholarship Committee The opportunity now exists to memorialize a family member, lost comrade or other loved one for an individual contribution to the Chappie Hall Trust Fund of no less than $500. The Fund will add a minimum of $500 to the scholarship to guarantee that it is awarded for not less than $1000 for next year's scholarships that are awarded. There may be a limited number of these “named” scholarships available in any given year, so if you wish to donate for next year’s awards you should contact the National Headquarters at Fort Campbell, KY, (931) 431-0199. Also more details are available in the Fall and Winter editions of the Screaming Eagle and on the 101st Airborne Division Association's website: www.screamingeagle.org. This opportunity offers the ability to impact our future as well as remember our past.

The Screaming Eagle Foundation was founded by the 101st Airborne Division Association's Board of Governors in Tampa, Florida on February 18, 2012. The Screaming Eagle Support Program (SESP), one of the important programs inside of the Foundation, continues to assist soldiers and their families in their times of financial need. Thanks to your continued support, the program has provided assistance of well over $1 million since 2001.

Today’s Screaming Eagles are at the tip of the spear as always and continue serving across the globe on their “Rendezvous with Destiny.” You are

part of this military family that takes care of their own and under-stands that even while in the mountains of Afghani-

stan Screaming Eagle families are not forgotten and will be taken care of. Your support is truly appreciated by every soldier and family we touch with your do-nated dollars.

The SESP focuses on helping junior enlisted families who struggle to make ends meet because of unforeseen circumstances and emergencies. The SESP continues to reach more soldiers and their families each year thanks to your generous support. You provide the means to give out 101 baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas each year to ensure that 202 families’ holidays are filled with enjoyable memories instead of concerns of how they will provide for their family members.

A Screaming Eagle Camp hosted by the ASYMCA and funded by your donations ensures over 50 kids each year are given a rewarding experi-ence that takes their minds off one of the things that

makes being a military child different; that is one or both of their parents being deployed. Thou-sands of dollars in gas cards that go to pay for the trips to hospitals in Nashville that is not within their budgets is received at times with tears. Your donations continue to touch Screaming Eagles in so many ways.

Generation after generation of Screaming Eagles pass on to the next the importance of looking out for one-another. As you listen to and read the daily news you see there is more to what makes military family life difficult than just deployments. Cuts on the Department of Defense budget affect each Soldier and their families and the SESP is where we can fill the gap to help lessen the burden they are feeling.

The Screaming Eagle Foun-dation thanks you for your gen-erous donation and for caring for our Screaming Eagles, Wounded Warriors, and their families. We hope you continue to donate.
