Merry Christmas SHS!! Wow, what a year 2012 was!!! This me last
year we were in hugely outdated facilies and
wondering if London 2012 would be any good? Fast forward 12 months and the change is simp-
ly amazing! We are in fantasc new state of the
art facilies which have revoluonised our PE
lessons and made us all raise our standards.
Then of course there is London 2012. 6 weeks of
the summer that changed many of our lives for-
ever and united us as a naon. The legacy of the
games is evident in our PE survey where 18
sports featured as students “favourites” and
extra curricular aendance has simply gone
through the roof.
In addion to this we have set SHS students on
the path to their own Olympic glory with the
Elite Athlete Potenal Pathway. 2012 had the
potenal to be very good indeed, but in the end
it beat anything we could have dreamed of!
How sport shapes us all… "When we were awarded the opportunity to host the Olym-
pics, we said that we would be judged ten years aer win-
ning the bid to host the Games. Only y per cent of the
story has been told and the most excing part of this is sll
to come, we have to get it right.” Lord Coe, October 2012
