MISSION STATEMENTSuncoast Technical College (STC) provides quality technical education to meet workforce development and community needs.

APPLICATION PROCESSHigh School Career Dual Enrollment1) Attend an STC ‘Information Session’ at your high school or meet with one of our school counselors at STC. To make an appointment, call 941-924-1365 / Ext. 622832) Complete the STC Secondary Student Application. Return it to your School Counselor’s Office or to the Student Services Office at STC.3) Meeting criteria for a program does NOT guarantee admission to Suncoast Technical College. Applications are due no later than March 31, 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS

REGISTER EARLY ● Limited Space. Return application by due date. ● Some programs may require additional steps prior to final admission.

COLLEGE CREDITSome programs allow the student to articulate college credit at State College of Florida (SCF) and other colleges. For more information, speak with an STC School Counselor.

TUITION Tuition is free as a high school dual enrolled student, however dual enrolled students are responsible for supplies and uniforms. Some programs take longer than 2 years to complete, therefore, after graduation, returning students will complete the adult application process, pay fees and remaining tuition.

CLASS TIMES

TRANSPORTATIONLimited school bus transportation is provided but MUST be identified on application. *Charter, home, and private school students must provide their own transportation. Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) stops at the STC Main Campus. Students may drive their own vehicles. Students in health programs are required to provide their own transportation to clinical sites.

ATTENDANCEIn accordance with the Florida Statute 1003.24, a child’s attendance in school is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. Absences cause students to miss significant instruction and learning opportunities. Dual-Enrolled students are expected to follow the STC’s attendnace policy in the STC Student Handbook. Failure to comply will result in dismissal from the program.

JUNIOR YEAR ENTRANCE ONLY PROGRAMS Practical Nursing is ONLY available to students in their Junior Year.

SENIOR YEAR ENTRANCE ONLY PROGRAMS Emergency Medical Technician (ATD) and Firefighter are ONLY available to students in their Senior Year.
