Summer Reading to Go Springfield-Greene County Library District

SUPERHERO PUPPET

OVERVIEW

This kit is made up of several enjoyable PICTURE BOOKS (suitable for all ages) along with a SUPERHERO book with a craft or activity that relates to our Summer Reading theme. We have also included a CHAPTER BOOK if you would like to read aloud each day to the older kids. Picture books are not only for your youngest children. Many are actually written at a higher reading level, and offer interesting plots. The illustrations help children understand what the story is about and allows them to analyze the story. Picture books blend stories with art. In a picture book, the illustrations are as important as the text, and both work together to tell the story. When you share picture books with children, be sure to pay attention to the illustrations—reading picture books means exploring the art as well.
