Mr. Hiroki Omae worked on planning the keynote

speeches for this year. “Unity is a developer’s

friend, and we have expanded the base of Unity’s

three main pillars,” says Mr. Omae. Those pillars

are: “Democratize Development,” “Solve Hard

Problems,” and “Enable Success.” The base of

those pillars is Unity 5.0, released in March 2015.

Unity continued updating its platform, releasing

Unity 5.3 in December 2015. Then, a video was

released that compared Unity 5.0 and the soon-to-

be-released Unity 5.4. Determined not to settle

with the quality of Unity 5.0, they’ve taken the

graphics in Unity 5.4 even further.

Unity: Widely recognized and extremely popular

▲Mr. Hiroki Omae (Unity

Technologies Japan)

▲Many listeners gathered at the keynote speech venue

starting early in the morning.

▲Tickets for the VR corner, featuring PlayStation VR (PS VR below), Oculus Rift,

and more, ran out as soon as the event started.

From April 4 to April 5, 2016, Unity Technologies Japan G.K. hosted

Unite 2016 Tokyo, a mega conference aimed at developers and

students who use Unity, in Tokyo at the Hilton Tokyo Odaiba. There

were over 30 different sessions and workshops at the venue, with

topics for professional engineers and Unity beginners. People are

increasingly referring to 2016 as “the year of VR,” so there were loads

of VR/AR workshops and lectures planned for the event.

●Once again, Unite 2016 Tokyo was one of the hottest events

of the year

The Importance of Having Support Engineers for Final

Fantasy Grand Masters

Mr. Fuchigami and Mr. Nozawa shared examples and hosted a

session on the importance of having support engineers for Final

Fantasy Grand Masters (FFGM). These engineers developed

various tools and helped optimize operations. The presenters said

engineers are coming up with solutions to help decrease human

error.

Incidentally, FFGM is filled with never-before-seen elements, like

brand new characters. They also said they did not use QC tools

right off the bat, and they are creating these tools as the need

arises.

The Trick to Utilizing Unity For Fate/Grand Order

Unite 2016 Tokyo was held at Odaiba, Tokyo over a two-

session for “The Trick to Utilizing Unity for Fate/Grand

Order”

Makoto Anjo and Hiroshi Ogino were the speakers for the

session. Mr. Anjo talked about being the art director in the

first half, with Mr. Ogino talking about being the lead

Feedback from Last Year’s Sponsors/Speakers –Data Collected from Last Year’s Sponsors/speakers

• Thank you for the fantastic event. We’ll work hard on our daily tasks so we can hold another session next year.

• The support at the session was superb, and our session went very smoothly. Thank you. Even when attending a session, the simultaneous interpretation was done very well, and I was able to concentrate on the session.

• Only shutter sound was prohibited, it was very open, and the separate booth for asking questions after the session was great.

• Thank you for these past two days. I think it was a great event, where you could really see where VR is going.

• It was really interesting to see the difference between the customers on the first day and the customers on the second day. The level gap between attendees was too large, and it was very challenging to handle it.

• I’d like to see more practical sessions that incorporate Unity a little more.

• I was able to relax and give my session thanks to the wonderful support from many staff members that day. Thank you.
