SCHOLARSHIP & AWARD PORTRAYAL

Achievement of Excellence in Cosmetology Award Is awarded to a student who has succeeded in all NYS Cosmetology requirements and portrays a great attitude, great attendance and demonstrates respect.

Adirondack Area School Boards Association Award Is awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated exemplary

service to the community. Area III SkillsUSA Award Is awarded to a student who has shown outstanding leadership

abilities and demonstrated growth in achievement and citizenship within their chosen occupation.

Ben Osborn Memorial Fund Scholarship Is awarded to a student who demonstrates moral character,

charitable attributes, service to others and a commitment to self-improvement.

Branching Out Award Is award to a student in the Environmental Conservation and

Forestry that has shown the most growth of recognizing and pursuing the diversified career opportunities within the program.

Bryant & Stratton College Scholarship Is awarded to a deserving student who is pursuing a career in the

field of Criminal Justice or Health Occupations. Career & Technical Education Completion Ceremony Speaker Award Is awarded to a senior who has successfully competed in a prepared

speech competition and has been selected to give the Completion Ceremony Address. This person must possess excellent speaking and writing skills and appropriate comportment to address the intended audience.

Chris Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship Is awarded to a deserving student who wishes to pursue a career

and/or continue their education in the field of Environmental Conservation or Heavy Equipment Industry.

Cosmetology Class Leader Award Is awarded to a student who has been a strong role model for other

students, volunteers their time for the community, exhibits academic achievements, and is responsible, reliable and respectful to their fellow classmates and their teachers.

Dr. Raymond L. Rhodes Memorial Award Is awarded to student who has shown a high moral commitment to

helping others in need with a commitment to continue their education. Dr. Rhodes was lifetime resident of the region who demonstrated these characteristics.

Environmental Science Achievement Award Is awarded to an Environmental Conservation student for their

exemplary growth within the Environmental Program. FFA Excellence Award Is awarded to an Environmental Conservation student who

exemplifies outstanding leadership qualities with the intent to continue in the Environmental Science Field.

Galusha Co. “Driven” Award Is awarded to a student who is independently driven with ambition

to accomplish their goals. A student who is passionate in the field they are seeking and has a vision for their future.

Glens Falls Kiwanis Club Criminal Justice Award Is awarded to Criminal Justice Studies seniors who have been active

in the community and will continue their education at a college or technical school.

Glens Falls Kiwanis Culinary Arts Award Is awarded to Culinary Arts seniors who have been active in the

community and will continue their education at a college or technical school.

Health Occupations Clinical Excellence Award Is awarded to a student who demonstrates professionalism,

initiative, and clinical excellence. Health Occupations Integrity Award Is awarded to a student who demonstrates following their moral and

ethical convictions and doing the right thing in all circumstances. Health Occupations Perseverance Award Is awarded to a student who demonstrates firmness of purpose,

patience and diligence. Health Occupations Professional Excellence Award Is awarded to a dedicated student who is diligent in their studies and

has perfect attendance. Heavy Equipment Program Exceptional Student Award Is awarded to a Heavy Equipment student who has demonstrated

exemplary work ethic, classroom achievement, positive attitude, and constant desire to learn.

Hudson Falls Fish & Game Club Award Is awarded to students in the Heavy Equipment program who have displayed a level of professionalism comparable to that of a seasoned veteran.

Hudson Falls Police Benevolent Association Is awarded to a student of good character, who treats Rick Diamond Scholarship others with respect and kindness, demonstrates service to others,

and strives to meet goals and overcome obstacle.

James H. Fogarty Memorial Scholarship Is awarded to a graduating student who best exemplifies the qualities of excellence established and maintained by Mr. James H. Fogarty during his career in Career & Technical Education. Mr. Fogarty was the founding Director of Career & Technical Education.

Kyle Silic Memorial Award Is awarded to a Construction Trades student(s) who combines

strong academic and leadership skills to pursue a career in the Construction Trades field.

Maureen VanBuren Memorial Scholarship and Award Is award to a student in the Early College High School/P-Tech

Program who plans to further his/her studies through college or technical school The student exhibits a strong work ethic, a generous spirit, a true passion for their field of study, and demonstrates dedication for their community and family.

Mike Duggan Achievement Award Is awarded to a student who shows a strong aptitude for mechanical

application in the Power Sports field. Nicholas Spagna Memorial Scholarship Is given to a graduating Culinary Arts senior who plans to continue

their education and who has shown growth in the field, dedication to the profession, and exemplary character.

Parents of Preschool Children Award Is awarded to Early Childhood students who displays outstanding

leadership and planning skills and plan to further their preschool education.

Raymond VanGuilder Recognition Award Is awarded to an Outdoor Power Equipment Technician student who

displays excellent professional skills and work ethic. Saratoga Adirondack BOCES Employees Association Award Is awarded to a student who has presented a positive attitude

toward their work, classmates and teacher. These students have demonstrated excellent attendance, shown leadership and initiative in class, and possess outstanding character.

SkillsUSA Award Is awarded to a student who has exemplified high standards of

leadership in youth club activities. Sydney A. Larkin Memorial Scholarship Is in memory of Mr. Sydney A. Larkin, an executive of the Kamyr

Neles Corporation. This is awarded to a student having successfully completed two years of study in Machine Tool Technology and is intending to continue their education.

The Balz Memorial Engineering Scholarship Is awarded to a student in the New Visions Engineering Program and

will be continuing his/her education in engineering at the college level. This senior also demonstrates a willingness to help others through community service and/or participation in his/her fire department or rescue squad.
