I SEE STARS DAYSHELL

Do you prefer playing huge shows all over the world or coming back to play smaller shows around your hometown? It’s really a mixed bag to be honest, it is incredible playing in different countries where people know all the words but nothing can come close to a homecoming feeling! It’s really hard to pick

Who has the most annoying habit on tour?Nobody really has any to be honest? The worst thing is probably the smell! After a couple of days of hot sweaty shows 9 dudes start smelling ripe.

If you were stranded on a mountain top and one of you had to get eaten, who would be the tastiest? It’s obviously going to be me, I’ve got the most meat on me.

If you couldn’t be in Bury Tomorrow anymore, which band would you want to be in?Slipknot. They are the greatest band in the world who wouldn’t want to be in them. What would your super power be? Invisibility! There is so much you can do with that, hahaha!

Who has the weirdest irrational fear and what is it?Our Merch guy hates his knees being touched so much that if done in the right way you can bring him to tears.

Favourite place to go for a night out in Southampton?I’m a Unit man, it’s the only place that you can find friends at everytime you go.

Do you ever give working titles to new songs, and if so what’s the best one been?On the last album we called one Tina The Llama , I loved that one.

Tell us why we should come and see you at Mo’Club in September?Because we party hard and make you circle pit harder!

Davyd Winter-Bates (bass)

Happy Singalong Pop Rock

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, it’s going to be a hell of a party!

Hometown show for Southampton boys done good

Atmospheric, poignant and HEAVY

On one hand we have the nu-metal leanings of Idiom, always tight as hell and fresh from an incendiary performance at Download Festival. On the other we have the hardcore rock party of The Smoking Hearts who spend as much time in the crowd as they do on stage. It’s safe to say it’s going to go OFF

It’s hard to believe that ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ is now 13 years old but Wheatus have stood the test of time and despite numerous changes within the band, their un-mistakable sound remains as fresh and bouncy as it was back in 2000. Upbeat and carefree, Wheatus both old and new will have you grinning from ear to ear!

According to BOTDF they’re one act that will scar your mind and with songs like electro pop anthems ‘Sexting’ and ‘Scream for my Ice Cream’ you can kind of see their point. Their music is a mash up of computer theme/ringtone electro combined with lyrics the likes of which The Bloodhound Gang would be proud of but with a smattering of gangsta rap and hardcore.

With equal emphasis on heaviness and melody, Bury Tomorrow have forged a sound that is as crushing as it is catchy. Their melo-dies are rich and soaring; guitarist Jason Cameron’s husky singing tones invoke the classic 80’s stadium rock vibe, whilst frontman Dani’s monstrous roars and energy coupled with the band’s water-tight riffs show the world how Metalcore should be done.

Crushingly heavy, darkly atmospheric, emotionally poignant, and never less than utterly enthralling, Devil Sold His Soul combine dev-astating force and haunting melody in a unique and involving blend that is as hypnotic as it is moving. Frankly, we can’t wait for the powerhouse tour combining DSHS with German deathcore band We Butter the Bread with Butter and the mighty Palm Reader.

Female fronted Canadian heavy metal

American groove metal kings

Moody and atmospheric indie with soul

Shining the light for the UK rock scene uprising

Loud, heavy and raucous – get ready to BOUNCE!

Unashamedly holding aloft the torch of old skool and forging their way into a new era of ‘proper’ heavy metal. With vocal skills that rival many of her male counterparts, front woman Brittany Paige is leading the way for kick ass girls and when combined with chunky, pounding riffs that make you want to assume the ultimate head banging position, we just can’t wait to see their live show.

Not satisfied with anything other than pushing themselves to the absolute limit of their abilities, Lamb of God consist-ently produce recorded work that shows how diverse, ar-ticulate and pummelling metal can be. Expect the immense shredding of guitars, searing and crunchy vocals and be prepared to mosh... hard. See you in the pit!

Hailing from all corners of the globe, American Nathan Nicholson, Australian Todd Howe and Englishmen Adam Harrison and Piers Hewitt came together in 2001 through a combined passion for escapist music. What we get today from ‘The Boxers’ is a mixture of bass-heavy grooves and indie rock sounds that is both brooding and crisp.

This is the year for the post-hardcore pop punk rock revolution and Mallory Knox are spearheading the movement. They blew us away at Takedown 2013 earlier this year and their star continues to rise. Accessible and upbeat tunes aplenty make up 2012’s smash hit album ‘Signals’ – you can’t help but bounce along and are humming the songs before you know you know them.

A long-time favourite at Southampton Music HQ, new album ‘Kill the Power’ is hotly anticipated and if recent release ‘Ninja’ is anything to go by, it’s going to be worth the wait! Heavy riffs and crazy beats, topped with the unique ragga-metal vocal stylings of frontman Benji Webbe if you’re lucky enough to catch Skindred live on their forthcoming tour…..expect to get SWEATY!!
