The SWMS is a Tier 3 MDT service consisting of Consultant Endocrinologists, a GP with Specialist Interest, Clinical Psychologists, Dietitians, Physiotherapists and Health Trainers. Since its beginning approximately 10 years ago the SWMS has grown quickly and now provides a Tier 3 service to the areas of Hartlepool, Stockton-On-Tees, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, Whitby, Hambleton and Richmondshire. This new post comes as a result of additional CCG funding due to increased referrals to the SWMS which is a testament to the success and popularity of the service. The successful applicant will be responsible for running the SWMS dietetic service at one of the community venues and may also be required to provide cover at other venues. The successful applicant will have previous experience of working in the NHS as a dietitian and possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellent team working skills. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic paediatric Audiologist to join our busy team. Our paediatric audiology services are comprehensive and audiology led. We carry out over 3,800 paediatric appointments each year. We provide a routine and specialist service, from tier 2 community clinics and 8 month targeted screening, to assessment of children with complex needs, management of tinnitus in children and management of a number of children with ANSD. Paediatric habilitation is provided to all ages from newborn babies through to transition to the adult service. We are fortunate to have our clinics well equipped with all services being provided in soundproof facilities with AC / BC / insert VRA, and transient otoacoustic emissions as a minimum. We also have a range of more specialist equipment to include the HearLab aided cortical system and video VRA. We have a particular emphasis on quality with regular peer review and patient surveys. Current research interests include management of unilateral hearing loss. We need someone who is able to step into a varied clinical role carrying out the full range of paediatric work including ABR, diagnosis of hearing loss, habilitation and assessment. However, we can offer support to develop leadership and management skills if this required. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Audiology, and be part of the Leadership Team for the service so can get involved in other areas across Audiology. You will line manage a small team of staff and have responsibility for one or more sub-sections of the service, as well as opportunities to get involved in audit and research. In our 4 community hospitals across Middlesbrough, Redcar and North Yorkshire we provide community inpatient care and rehabilitation with a mix of GP and consultant-led beds. Our community teams co-ordinate care for individuals in need to live healthily and independently in their own homes. We do this by responding rapidly to avoid hospital admissions and providing support to enable patients to leave hospital as soon as is safe. We are looking for skilled and outstanding senior nursing clinicians to join our Community Matron service that sits with the Community Nursing Service forming part of the Community Care Centre within the Trust. Both critical care and Anaesthesia have very strong educational, research and training records and opportunities, running regional courses for both middle grades and more junior trainees. The critical care unit offers FICE training and is recognised for Advanced Training in Intensive Care Medicine, having 3 Advanced trainees at any one time and running a highly regarded weekly teaching programme, middle grade teaching and journal club. ICNARC outcomes are excellent. On call is within Critical Care at James Cook but flexible sessional working between James Cook and the FHN is expected and a variety of anaesthesia lists would be available tailored to an individual’s interests and the service needs of the department.
