This new post comes as a result of additional CCG funding due to increased referrals to the SWMS which is a testament to the success and popularity of the service. We are seeking an enthusiastic, proficient echocardiographer to join our expanding cardiac investigations team. Across the two sites there are 18 Cardiologists (2 based within the Cardiology Unit at the Friarage) 7 Surgeons,35 Cardiac Physiologists and 20 support staff providing an efficient and high quality service to patients. The Cardiology Unit is housed in purpose-built accommodation and equipped with state-of-the-art technology which allows us to take both secondary and tertiary referrals. The services provided at the Cardiology unit includes echocardiography and transoesophageal, including a direct access echocardiography service, pacemaker follow up clinics, loop clinics, CRT follow up with the potential to run ICD follow up and remote monitoring clinics dependent on skills of the applicant. The department also provides a full range of non-invasive Cardiology diagnostics, including ECG’s, ambulatory ECG, BP and extended ECG monitoring, exercise tolerance tests, rapid access chest pain clinic, 6 minute walk tests and runs many Consultant and Nurse Specialist Clinics eg rapid access arrhythmia clinic and heart failure clinic. Middlesbrough - Urology - Learning Research and Innovation Institute (South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) Salary: £30,002 - £39,693 pa Job Type: Fixed term Reference: 328-483 Closing Date: 08 Jun 2016 To commence August 2016 Applications are invited from registered medical practitioners for a Teaching Fellowship, jointly supervised by the Urology and Undergraduate directorates within The James Cook University Hospital, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Close collaboration and flexible working between the two directorates is integral to the appointments, to balance clinical and teaching commitments. The post is for 12 months and is on an appropriate salary scale. Successful candidates must be fully registered medical practitioners who have successfully completed Foundation Programme or have equivalent training. The award of the Teaching Fellowship will allow the post-holders to participate in clinical activities within the urology department and have the opportunity to participate in clinical research. Fellows will also have a definite commitment to delivering and developing undergraduate teaching at all levels at The James Cook University Hospital. The balance of teaching and clinical/research activity will be determined by the needs of the individual and the changing requirements over the academic year, but it is expected that equal time can be spent in both areas. You will be a registered nurse with at least 2 years’ experience in cardiology, have ENB 998, Facilitating learning or equivalent.
