It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our good friends Doug Estergaard and Colleen Goodrich. Colleen was a former Executive Director here at the Centre, and Doug served on our Board as Vice President as well as a Member at Large. Doug and Colleen were known for their keen interest in doing their very best for seniors. Both were a vital part of our community, and we will not forget them.
On behalf of the Members of the Board of Directors,
Dolores O'Leary Shafik, President
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD
Happy Holidays everybody!
Our Holly Bazaar was once again a successful community building event. I’d like to thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to sort and price the Bazaar goods for months in advance, to bake for our bake sale, to set up on Friday, and to sell items, make lunch, and serve over 300 people on Saturday. I also wish to thank all those who donated freely to us and the hundreds of people who came to buy and thus supported us on the day of the Bazaar!
Please help us to decorate our Christmas tree by contributing to our Holiday Giving Tree Campaign! With your donation, you will receive a star to place on our Christmas tree in your name or in the name of someone you love.
The draw for our Christmas Raffle will take place at the Christmas Luncheon (Tuesday, December 20th), our traditional holiday celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your friends and community. There will be plenty of tasty food and good entertainment.
As always, we thank you for your contributions to the Centre! The money we raise this holiday season is much needed to help us keep all of our programs and events affordable and to help seniors stay connected, healthy, independent and free from isolation.
With love,
