South Ayrshire Events and Festivals boast a year round programme of popular events taking place across our many towns and villages.

2019 is the 260th anniversary of Burns birth in Alloway. To celebrate, a special Burns an’ a’ that! programme will take place including the brand new Burns Hame Toun, the world’s first Drive Thru Burns Supper, the popular Burnsfest and more.

A brand new half marathon will be heading to Ayr in September and we continue to boast a range of fantastic events and festivals celebrating our coastline, golf courses, music, sport, food & drink, authentic Scottish experiences and more.

We will also be planning Scotland’s Year of Coast and Waters 2020 – something to really look forward to.

Robert Burns Museum Gardens are all set for a fabulous night of entertainment to celebrate the 260th anniversary.

With a lit up playground, mini fairground rides, toasted marshmallows, stilt walkers, jugglers, live music, food &

drink, lantern making (must be booked) and a spectacular finale of the burning of John Barleycorn!

Burns Hame Toun is a brand new Ayr Town Centre event in celebration of 260 years since the birth of Robert Burns. Join our very own Rabbie at the Wallace Tower stage starring The

MacDonald Brothers, and Clanadonia. All that plus Burns Bairns, Poet’s Podium, Horse & Cart Rides, Landmark’s Alive, Scottish

Street Food and Country Dancing. The day ends with a Burning Burns Finale on the historic Auld Brig!

The members of Alloway Burns Club present their annual concert of poetry and songs, mainly but not exclusively by

Burns. This will include performances by the folk group Luath and the Alloway Burns Club Choir. The event is free

The Ayrshire Road Run will gather on the Low Green, Ayr on Saturday morning, 13th July, for a public display, and will then follow a planned route through Ayrshire and Galloway

to Portpatrick for an overnight stop. On Sunday 14th July, the Run returns to Ayr by way of a different route. Upwards of 100

vintage and classic commercials and PSVs are expected.
