FCC RF Exposure Information
Your handset is a radio transmitter and receiver. It isdesigned and manufactured not to exceed the emission limitsfor exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the FederalCommunications Commission of the U.S. Government. The guidelines are based on standards that were developedby independent scientific organizations through periodicand thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standardsinclude a substantial safety margin designed to assure thesafety of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure standard for wireless handsets employs a unitof measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, orSAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg. The tests areperformed in positions and locations (e.g. at the ear and wornon the body) as required by the FCC for each model. The highest SAR value for this model handset as reported tothe FCC when tested for use at the ear is 0.395 W/kg, andwhen worn on the body in a holder or carry case, is 0.352 W/kg.This device was tested for typical body-worn operationswith the back of the handset kept 1.0 cm from the body.To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, use accessories that maintain a 1.0 cm separation distancebetween the user's body and the back of the handset. Theuse of beltclips, holsters and similar accessories should notcontain metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirementsmay not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, andshould be avoided. The FCC has granted an EquipmentAuthorization for this model handset with all reported SARlevels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF emissionguidelines. SAR information on this model handset is onfile with the FCC and can be found at http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea under the Display Grant section after searching thecorresponding FCC ID (APYHRO00174).Additional information on Specific Absorption Rates (SAR)can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications & InternetAssociation (CTIA) Website at http://www.phonefacts.net.
