Folding attic ladders enable safe and easy access to non-inhabited spaces without the need for installing costly and space consuming staircases. FAKRO folding attic ladders satisfy all technical and safety requirements while maximiz-ing ease of use and comfort.

FAKRO offers many attic ladder models to cover all individual customers’ needs around the world. We deliver some of these models to North America for almost immediate delivery to our customers. These attic ladders were designed to satisfy your needs and protect your comfort with a long-term warranty program. Our installation system enables the ladder to be easily installed by one or two people and provides easy ladder toe space and height adjustment.

All minimum ceiling heights are recommended by the manufacturer. The customer agrees to indemnify the manufacturer and FAKRO, and hold them harmless from any liabilities that may arise from any further adjustments that the customer may make/alter beyond the recommended minimum ceiling height.

BOXThe ladder box frame is made of wood. Wooden frame for insulated models contains a peripheral gasket situated within the milled section of the box. Once the hatch is closed this gasket ensures proper tightness of the entire unit. Specially designed frame allows fast and convenient trim installation.

HATCHThe attic ladder hatch can be non-insulated (made of particle board), insulated (sandwich type) or fireproofed. The applied thermal insulation protects against heat loss and - in fire rated attic ladders - also against significant heat transfer during fire.

STEPSGrooves which are cut into the step surface protect the user from accidental slipping while using the ladder.

PLASTIC ENDSThe ladder can be equipped with the plastic ends. They are specially designed to prevent from scratching the floor and to help stabilizing the ladder.

LADDERFAKRO wooden attic ladders made of high quality pine wood are composed of three sections. The special ladder structure and materials used ensure it’s high durability.

HARDWAREThe patented corner hinge or spring catch reinforces the rigidity of the box and helps maintain square corners. Thanks to this, the box is not affected by deformations and can be operated trouble free once installed. The ladder hinges joining each of the ladder sections provide rigidity to moving connections.

HATCH UNLOADING MECHANISMOperation of the attic ladder is significantly improved because of FAKRO’s unique opening mechanism. Once unlocked, the hatch opens slowly without any potential danger to the user. Once fully opened, this mechanism will hold the hatch in position, preventing it from slamming shut. No sudden movements.

The LWT attic ladder model is a super-thermo insulated unit recommended for projects which stress energy-saving, es-pecially due to heat loss. The LWT is an ideal unit for creating a barrier between a cool attic and the heated space below.

The LMS ladder is a folding metal ladder where both hatch and box are made of pine wood. The ladder itself is made of powder-coated metal RAL 7022. The hatch color is beige, allowing it to be veneered or painted in any color to match the interior de-sign. BOX The box can be made of wood or metal. The box is equipped with a peripheral gasket (LST) and lining as standard. Proper box structure allows for quick setting of the ladder in the ceiling and facilitates correct levelling.

HATCHStandard scissors attic ladders are equipped with white insulated or fire-resistant hatches, made of wood, or wood and metal. The external hatch surface is smooth without any visible fixing elements.

STEPSThe specially embossed pattern on the step surface protects the user from accidental slipping while using the ladder.

LADDER The scissors ladder structure makes it possible to easily adjust its length to the room height without the need for cutting. Additionally, it enables folding the ladder to smaller sizes and therefore allows installation in smaller ceiling openings (the smallest ladder size being 22x31 inch). The elegant and modern style of the scissors attic ladder is achieved by the “S”-shaped stringers which may also serve as handrails.

The attic balustrade protects the user from falling through the opening in the ceiling and it also facilitates an easier descent on the ladder. Made of pine wood. The balustrade is available in standard size 30”x54”.

The red-painted metal handrail is mounted on the angle brackets of the ladder, and can be mounted on either side of the ladder, making climbing easier. The handrail is available in two lengths:251/2” for OWM291/2” for LWT, LWP, LWN, LMS, LWF

Plastic ends give an aesthetic look to ladder‘s appearance and through appro-piate shape enhance its stability. One set contains 2 pieces.

To increase the length of the LSF ladder you can use an extra step:LSS-30 for size 22/47,LSS-32 for size 25/47.

To increase the length of the LST ladder you can use an extra step:LSS-38 for size 27/31,LSS-31 for sizes: 22/31, 22/47, 22/54, 25/47, 25/54.

Triming is designed to finish the installation of the ladder and to cover gaps in the ceiling which remain after the fitting process. The triming elements are made of pine wood (LXL-W painted in white) or PVC (LXL-PVC triming) also available in white*. This quick and simple fitting process ensures a fast, aesthetically pleasing finish of the installed attic ladder. In the case of PVC triming, connection with the box does not require any nails. The trimings are available in one size 30”x54”.LXL-W available for all sizes: LWN, LWP, LWT, LWF, OWM, LMS. LXL-PVC available for all sizes: LWP, LWT, LMS.

The L-shaped door DWK is intended to be built into L-shaped walls. Superb Thermo-Insulating parameters (R-value: 5.2) along with high air tightness keep heat-loss to a minimum. The L-shaped doors may be installed in right or left opening versions. Lining slats are included in the standard configuration..

The MSU Universal ”Miller” staircase is made of solid spruce wood.The max-imum ceiling height for use of the MSU must not exceed 9’6” (290cm). The external staircase width is 251/2” (65cm). As standard the staircase is provided without handrail. The MXH handrail can be obtained and be mounted on the left or right side of the stairs.

The upper hatch prevents attic dust form accumulating on the hatch and steps of the closed ladder. It improves the overall insulating parameters and tight-ness of the ladder on which it is installed. The height of the upper hatch box is 7¾“ (20cm). Available for ladders LWN, LWP, LWT, LWF, OWM, LMS. For the LST model ladder, the extension box should be installed prior to the upper hatch.

Note: while ordering the LXW please provide ladder type and size.

Made of pine wood, the box extension matches perfectly with the box of the installed ladder extending the aesthetic look of the ceiling opening.The standard box height is 4” (10cm). Available for ladders LWN, LWP, LWT, LWF, OWM, LMS, LST.
