SLO LITTLE THEATRE PERFORMANCES slolittletheatre.org
ENCHANTED APRIL
APRIL 12–MAY 5
When two frustrated London housewives decide to rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away from their bleak marriages, they recruit two very different English women to share the cost and the experience. Among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four women bloom again – rediscover-ing themselves in ways they could never have expected.
UBU’S OTHER SHOE STAGED READING: AFTER THE REVOLUTION
MAY 10–11
The young, brilliant Emma Joseph proudly carries the torch of her family’s Marxist tradition by devot-ing her life to the memory of her famously blacklisted grandfather. When history reveals a shocking truth about the man himself, the entire family is forced to confront questions of honesty and an alle-giance they thought had been long resolved.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC
MAY 24–JUNE 23
When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as govern-ess for seven children of a widowed naval officer, Captain von Trapp. Her growing rapport with the youngsters coupled with her generosity of spirit clash with the Captain, his fiancée and soon the Nazis as they seize power of her Austrian homeland.
UBU’S OTHER SHOE STAGED READING: RED
JUNE 28–29
Red chronicles a tormented painter’s two-year struggle to complete a lucrative set of murals for Man-hattan’s exclusive Four Seasons restaurant, and his fraught relationship with a seemingly naïve young assistant, who must choose between appeasing his mentor and changing the course of art history.
