Facilitators note:

Due to the a few glitches, the sound wasnt coming through the SL stream initially and sothe first 8 pages of the chat were not really about the seminar. Nevertheless, I retained thewhole chat record as I found it very charming and, more importantly, representative of

how wonderful the SL community can be warm, friendly and funny. From page 9 onwardsthere are comments about motion capture, m.com, SL animation, so you can skip ahead to

that if that is of interest. Remember that this is in response to the seminar (which is alsodocumented via Twitter and a podcast - http://blog.knittedgardens.net/2012/06/putting-machinima-in-or-out-of-cinema.html) so it should be read in complementarity. hear the term leroy jinkins at least 3 times a week and i dont evan play WOW. its become

films that machinima is a potential medium for - imho [10:32]

shoudl be animatiuon - it should not need a qualifyer - it really should be aniumation

and taken as that - youodont say oh South park is cut paper moved around - the question

is does calling it machinima handicap it from being viewed on par wiht animation?

Mai (maimoamimo): Jim heson does entirely motion capture in real time (although

cleaned up) it is still conciderd animation. they use a combination of a body actor and a

pupiteer for the facial and voice animtion. [10:34]
