3. 4. Mazowiecka Village Museum this is skansen- ethnographic park, located just outside the city. Skansen occupies an area of 60.5 hectares of beautifully land situated on the river Sierpienica.
In the Park collected over 80 objects of wooden architecture from the region of northwest Mazovia representing the folk architecture of the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
The exhibition includes: 11 pens peasant(residential buildings, barns, barns, granaries, pigsties) inn, smithy, mill, windmill and a chapel. Chambers peasant appearance changes in the rhythm of the seasons, holidays and agricultural activities.
In Museum are presented daily activities: baking of bread, cheese product, drying herbs, laundry and ironing,picklingcucumbers and cabbage. Whitewashed and thatched cottages surrounded by flower gardens and vegetable gardens, and pastures with grazed animals, gives the impression of the village is still vibrant. Create a natural setting for the work and demonstrations of traditional rural craftspresented at numerous and interesting outdoor events, such as harvest, potato-lifting or honey harvest.
From May to late September every Sunday and holiday are held plain-air events called Sunday in Skansen. Then workshops (blacksmiths, weavers, embroiderers, sculptors, basketworks) come to life, with accompaniment of rural band and burning fireplace.
In the museum were carried photos of many educational, hiking and entertainment programs and also films like "Fire and Sword" and "Pan Tadeusz.
