SITUATIONAL ANALYSISA. School PerformanceSchool performance is measured by the NAT results, enrolment, completion, graduation, retention, promotion, repetition, drop out and failure rates.Table 1Lapuyan NHS Performance Indicators for Three Consecutive School YearsPerformance IndicatorsSexSY 2009 - 2010SY 2010 - 2011SY 2011 - 2012

To have a better picture of the schools performance indicators, the SPT opted to present each indicator and analyze each as an individual entity.
1. Completion Rate
Completion rate is fluctuating. Family income affects the attendance to school when prices of agricultural products go down. Distance to school compounded by poor roads with no available form of transportation. Students grow tired of walking from home to school. Lack of parental guidance and support is also contributory factor.
2. Graduation Rate
The graduation rate gives an increasing trend. It shows that there are more female students who graduate compared to the males.
3. Retention Rate
Like other indicators, retention rate is also fluctuating. The decrease is obvious in 2011 2012. This is due to low prices of agricultural products, which affected greatly the economic conditions of the residents.Another is the opening of an annex in Tiguha.4. Promotion Rate
The graph shows that there is an increasing trend on promotion of female students, male students have lower promotion rate and is fluctuating for the three consecutive years. Promotion has increased in the latest year.
5. Repetition Rate
There is an increasing trend of repetition rate for two years, but has decreased in the recent year. Absenteeism, poor study habits and lack of interest are just some of the reasons of male students.
6. Dropout Rate
More males dropped from school compared to female students. The highest number of male drop out was in 2010 2011, the lowest female drop out was in 2009 2010 with 2%. Several FICS factors contributed to this low indicator like low family income, lack of parental support and guidance, transfer of residence, peer influence, poor health, and broken home. 7. Failure Rate
Failure rate is fluctuating. Males show higher failure rate than females. Factors that contributed to their school performance are : lack of interest in finishing high school; poor study habits, tardiness, absenteeism, lack of parental guidance and support, peer influence, presence of several unregulated recreational facilities, vices, low family income, distance of school from students residence. In general, the schools performance is below from the national standard set by the Department of Education. This can be addressed continuing school interventions such as remediation, tutoring, and individual counseling by teachers, participation and involvement of all stakeholders.

Tables 2 and 3 show that the National Achievement Rate (NAT) results of Lapuyan National High School for the last three years are fluctuating. It has increased in SY 2010 - 2011 and decreased in 2011 2012 due to some factors; 1) interruption of classes during programs, athletic meets, fiesta celebrations; 2) presence of increased number of Videoke game Centers, billiard dens; 3) tardiness and absenteeism; 4) lack of parental guidance; 5) lack of interest, among others.Graphical presentations are made showing the NAT Results of the Five Learning Areas for the three consecutive years. This way, the school has a clearer picture of how it performs in each subject area. Hopefully, effective measures can be implemented to address the gaps.Figure 1. Lapuyan NHS NAT Overall Results for three consecutive years
Figure 2. NAT Results for the Five Learning Areas (2009 2010)
NAT result has improved in three (3) learning areas while English and ArPan decreases. Data shows in English decreases 10.21% from 72.2% to 61.99, Aral Panlipunan decreases 14.54% from 65.2 to 50.66%
Figure 2.1 SY 2010 - 2011
Araling Panlipunan has the highest MPS result. An increase of 26.89% from 50.66 of SY 2009 2010. This could be attributed to remediation and enhancement activities done by the school. Filipino increases 12.29% from 48.89 to 61.18%. Though Math is the lowest MPS but it improved and increases 1.31% from 58.8% of SY 2009 2010. Figure 2.2 SY 2011- 2012
Science got the lowest followed by Math. Topping the result is Araling Panlipunan. NAT result for SY 2011 2012 decreases. It can be gleaned that all subjects fall short of the 75% planning standard.
A. ENROLMENT STATUS
The table below showed the enrollment of the school for the last five years. Increased of students population each school year translates into growing needs and adversely affects the students classroom ratio, students teacher ratio, textbooks student ratio, and the other indicators that say so much about the quality of education the students received
The table shows the enrolment status of Lapuyan National High school. Despite the presence of three annexes, the school has maintained the ideal 700 and more population. Enrolment rate has largely increases. Parents still send their children to Lapuyan National High School despite the presence of the annexes in their barangay or the proximity of the annex to their place of residence and poor road conditions.Data shows that there are more girls who go to school than boys. Some of the reasons are; they are utilized as farm hands by their parents; they prefer to work for a living due to poverty.
B. PHYSICAL FACILITIES
School equipment and a number of instructional materials such as books and other references play a vital role in the development of students knowledge and skills.
