We are going ahead with our Fall Raffle. In past years, the Fiesta and raffle brought in funds that the parish needed to do “extra” things. This year the raffle will help us continue with the most essential things. Estimados feligreses de Santo Domingo Savio,

Vamos a tener la rifa de otoño. En años pasados, la Fiesta y la rifa aportaron fondos que la parroquia necesitaba para hacer algu-nas inversiones “extras”. Este año el sorteo nos ayu-dará no con inversiones “extras” sino, necesarias. Pues, desde que la pande-mia cerró las puertas de nuestra iglesia, las donacio-nes que apoyan el funcio-namiento diario de la parro-quia han disminuido signifi-cativamente.

La rifa de otoño será el domingo 27 de septiembre de 2020. El sorteo será después de la última misa dominical de ese día (alrededor de las 7:30 pm). Transmitiremos en vivo, vía “livestream” la rifa por el sitio web de la parroquia. Es importante tener presen-te que el ganador necesa-riamente no tiene que estar presente para llevarse el premio.

Acudo a su buena y gran voluntad para pedirle que nos ayude a vender los boletos de la rifa. El talona-rio de 25 boletos tiene un costo de $50 o cada boleto por $2. Recordemos que se pueden entregar los boletos vendidos o comprar más boletos después de todas las misas de sábado y do-mingo a partir del 12 de septiembre. Tengan pre-sente, que las personas que vendan un talón com-pleto (25 boletos) y los entreguen después de una de estas misas de fin de semana, recibirán 10 bole-tos gratis para si mismos.

Cyberbullying is still a threat with distance learning This year, with school starting online children of all ages will be interacting with one another via technology even more than usual. Be on the lookout for signs that bullying is happening via the internet, texting, various apps, or social media – as challenging as it is, monitor both the amount of time your children are “plugged in” and the content of what they are doing when interacting with their peers. Cyberbullying can include the use of apps, texts, photographs, and images that are intended to hurt, harass, embarrass, or even destroy the reputation of a victim. Unlike at school, you cannot walk away from cyberbullying — it spreads instantly, 24/7. Children who are cyberbullied may avoid going online or talking to their so-called friends.
