Most times a general request for help is asked at meetings, dinner or in the newsletter and to many times the request goes unanswered. So please consider stepping up and volunteering to help your lodge with our many functions to help us provide these events to our youth, our veterans ,our members and our community. Invite a friend to enjoy activities and then to join the Elks. The Elks National Foundation proudly sponsors two major scholarships. The first: Most Valuable Scholarship is available for all high school students and has a deadline of November 27th. The website for more information on this scholarship is enf.elks.org/mvs. It is definitely based on leadership skills, financial need, and academic excellence. The second: Legacy Awards is available for students that have a parent or grandparent that is a member of an Elks Lodge. The deadline for this scholarship is February 2nd, 2018 and the website for more information is enf.elks.org/leg. Hello fellow Elks! We are once again collecting deer hides to be given to veteran homes. The box will

be outside the Elks. Please encourage anyone you know that hunts to bring their hides down. Also, if

you would like to volunteer to assist with picking up and salting the hides, I would take any help I can

use. It's really quite an easy job and one that doesn't take long at all. It would be great to see some

new people helping out and getting involved, even if it's just one time!
