We were faced with the traditional reactive (break/fix) model in our organization.
This was not conducive to maintaining a well-performing, predictably available IT
infrastructure. We needed to find a way to avoid IT issues by staying ahead of
potential problems and correcting issues before they ultimately resulted in
outages. We maintain three physical servers, two ESX hosts with ten virtual
machines between them including two domain controllers, a DNS, a terminal
server, a file server and a couple of application servers. We also support around
90 workstations. With an IT sta of two, it is critical to change our model to a more
proactive one, freeing up time to align IT with the business. We needed the ability
to monitor the health of our assets in real-time. Reporting on those assets is just
as important. We needed the ability to run user reports for logins/logos, time on
system and which files were accessed. Again, we were just looking for a solution
that would allow us to be more proactive in managing our servers and
workstations.
“Server Monitoring Toolkit did exactly what you said it does. It’s getting better and better as I learn more about it. I STRONGLY recommend Server Monitoring Toolkit to EVERYONE that has a need to monitor and report on IT assets!”
Brian Walker, Director of Information Technology, New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau

tSOLUTION: SERVER MONITORING TOOLKIT by Acceleratio
We selected Server Monitoring Toolkit because it allows us to monitor ALL of our
servers and workstations from one application. We especially liked the fact that
we did not have to install agents on all of the assets. We had a big concern about
creating an additional overhead on the clients and servers and this agentless
solution was definitely a plus. It provides me with a very user-friendly and
powerful web interface (accessible from anywhere), which shows the health of all
of my assets. The ability to see disk and network activity, CPU utilization, network
throughput, and to be able to set thresholds on each is a valuable tool.
The New Orleans CVB’s IT department is now able to monitor and report on all
of its assets while minimizing downtime. We now have the ability to identify
specific users and what resources they are accessing. Maintaining the technology
of this organization has gotten a lot easier thanks to SMTK.
