    Moving from Parallel SCSI to Serial SCSI (SAS)

    A new generation serial communication protocolfor direct attached devices designed to allow formuch higher speed data transfers and iscompatible with SATA.

    SAS uses serial communication instead of theparallel method found in traditional SCSI devices
