The Series 4G, 8G, and 16G Temperature/Process PID Loop Controllers allow for monitoring and control of temperature or process conditions in many different applications. Two independent control outputs for dual loop control use On/Off, auto-tune or self-tune PID, fuzzy logic, or manual control regulation methods. Relay, voltage pulse, current, or linear voltage control outputs combined with two alarm relay contacts and optional hardware for event inputs, analog process value retransmission and remote set-point adjustment make the G series extremely versatile and robust.
Series G Product Overview
Full-Featured, Customizable Off The Shelf, Economic
16A 16G 16B
• Comprehensive user interface gives the user everything they need to know at a glance.– Large dual line LCD displaying the process
value, set point value or program status, alarm conditions, and output conditions
– Bar meter indicating the primary output value from 0 to 100 %
– The process display color can be programmed to change from amber to red when a alarm point has been reached.
Series G Features & Benefits
• RS-485 Modbus communication standard.
• 2 integral user programmable function buttons– Cycle between 2 stored set-points
– Cycle between run and stop modes
– Cycle between auto and manual modes
– Manual reset of alarm conditions
Series G Features & Benefits
• Up to two hardware options can be selected when ordering:– Input retransmission (4-20mA)
– Remote set-point adjustment (4-20mA input)
– Digital input which can be programmed for:
• Hard parameter lockout
• Cycle between run and stop modes
• Cycle between auto and manual modes
• Manual reset of alarm conditions
Series G Features & Benefits
• Process Markets– Primary use: Indicate and precisely
control temperature of a process using PID control.
Applications:• Controlling damper position in
a Dryer Oven.
• Control temperatures in medical laboratory incubation chambers.
• Run programmed heat cycles in environmental testing chambers.
• Control sealing iron temperature in packaging equipment.
Series G Markets
Series G PIDLoop Controller
• The G series can be used to control the position of a damper on a drying oven.
• PID control automatically maintains steady temperatures in the oven.
Dryer Damper Position
Series G Applications
• Cross selling opportunities:– Temperature sensors
– Pressure, Air Velocity, or other Transmitters to monitor and control processes other then temperature
– Valve or damper actuators
• The G can be used to control incubation chamber conditions where accurate temperature control is critical.
• PID control helps automatically maintain specific temperature ranges.
• Programmable for heating cycles if needed.
Series G ApplicationsIncubation Chamber Control
• The G can be used to run programmed heat cycles in environmental testing chambers.
• PID and programmable controls automate heat cycles and ensure accurate temperature control.
Series G ApplicationsEnvironmental Testing Chamber Control
• The G series can be used to control sealing iron temperature in packaging equipment.
• PID control automatically prevents fluctuations in temperature which could cause improper sealing and leaks in packaging.
Series G ApplicationsSealing Iron Temperature Control
• The G series can be used to control the roasting temperature in gas fired coffee roasters.
• PID control adds repeatability to the roasting process giving consistency to the flavor between batches.
Series G ApplicationsCoffee Roasters
• The G series can be used to monitor and control the hot liquor tank (HLT), the mash temperature, and the storage refrigerator temp.
• PID control again add consistency and repeatability to the process so that flavor can be maintained.
