Chamber President and CEO Aaron Nelson recently attended a celebration welcoming the fourth class of LAUNCH Chapel Hill. LAUNCH Chapel Hill is a start-up accelerator located in a 3500-sq.-ft. venture lab on Rosemary Street in downtown Chapel Hill. Dina Rousset, LAUNCH’s program director, said of the incoming cohort of entrepreneurs, “Throughout our competitive selection process, these teams stood out for both the caliber of their ideas and their potential for scale. We’re thrilled to welcome them to our space and look forward to seeing these diverse companies come into their own over the course of the next six to 12 months.”

LAUNCH is a one-of-a-kind partnership founded by a collaboration between UNC, the Town of Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership, and Orange County. Learn more online at launchchapelhill.com, or sign up as a mentor to these entrepreneurs at launchchapelhill.com/mentors.

Did you miss the State of the Community Report? Annually, the Chamber’s Partnership for a Sustainable Community presents a data set to help our community understand “how are we doing?” We look at those indicators over time and in comparison to other commu-nities in our region and across the state. If you missed the event, you can find the entire pre-sentation at the Chamber’s SlideShare account at slideshare.net/carolinachamber.

Special thanks to the sponsors of the State of the Community Report, Triangle Community Foundation and Durham Tech!

“I was thankful to ‘network’ with community partners in a ‘social’ setting! The beverages, Jersey Mike’s, and, in particular, the post-event meal were FANTASTIC!” 2014 Performance Golf Classic participant

You can do it all – network, eat, drink, and golf on a Jack Nicklaus-designed course at the 2015 Performance Golf Classic, Monday, Sept. 28 at Governors Club. Register to play or attend the Performance Golf Classic as a SuperFan at carolinachamber.org/golf!

Special thanks to Performance Golf Classic sponsors including Performance Automall, Bank of North Carolina, UNC Health Care, Carolina Athletics, Hamilton Point, MHAworks, Secure Network Administration, The Pointe at Chapel Hill, Appointment Friend, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Durham and Orange Counties.
