Want to know what’s going down and what’s coming out of the ground? Need to understand what the trends are for residential and commercial real estate? Join us 8-10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel for the 2015 Orange County Development Briefing.

Each year we bring in the experts to give you updates you need for business planning, plus pre-sentations on individual projects around the county. Tickets to the briefing are $28 for Chamber, GCHAR, and HBADOC members and can be purchased online at carolinachamber.org/events.

We’re grateful for the investment of Town of Chapel Hill Economic Development, presenting sponsor of this year’s briefing. Find out more about available opportunities and more reasons why you should locate your business in Chapel Hill at the department’s newly revamped website, opentobusiness.biz.

NWR blends the nimbleness of a small business with a long legacy of success from its history at Crosland as its residential, contracting and market-rate property management divisions. Northwood Ravin develops and manages apartment communities and mixed-use venues with a singular focus: to create communities that foster healthy lifestyles, neighborhood involvement and appealing living environments.

Northwood Ravin’s team has earned everything from the NAHB Multifamily Pillars of the Industry award for design, mixed-use development and creative financing, to Multi-Housing News

Design Excellence Awards, to CEL & Associates’ “A List” Award for customer service. Care is taken during the design and construction stages of any project to ensure the long-term durability and sustainability, so that maintenance costs will be minimized and the buildings will remain aesthetically appealing for decades to come.

The team has also built or developed projects that are registered in LEED-NC, LEED-ND pilot pro-gram and LEED-CS programs, EarthCraft and Energy Star® programs. One of NWR’s most recent projects developed in Durham, Trinity Commons, is LEED® registered and was the first multifamily rental project to achieve LEED Silver certification in Eastern North Carolina. Northwood Ravin

It’s not an “off” year – make sure you vote in the 2015 elections

Northwood Ravin is managing apartment leasing for Carolina Square, currently under construction at 123 W. Franklin Street.

Joel I. Levy, CPA, PLLC recently signed up their staff for RelyMD. Joel Levy and his wife used the service just days after. Here’s what Joel had to say about the service:

“Less than a week after signing up for RelyMD, on a Sunday afternoon, my wife started expe-riencing a good bit of pain. I suggested using the service from our home computer. We went online, completed a short questionnaire, and hit submit. I turned to my wife and said, ‘Okay, let’s see how long it takes to get a response.’ It wasn’t more than 5 minutes, and we had a doc-tor on the screen and my wife was explaining her symptoms to him. He was able to call in a prescription just a few minutes later and she was feeling better fast. RelyMD was so much better than sitting in an emergency room and unneces-sarily paying hundreds of dollars. I highly recom-mend RelyMD. It was prompt, professional, and cost and time efficient.”
