Lambert Jr., Commissioner Department of Conservation & Recreation September 16, 2011 The Town of Bridgewater c/o Jennifer Goldson 66 Central Square Bridgewater, MA 02324 RE: Calthrop/Perkins Property The Committee and Ms. Goldson, Due to prior commitments, I am unable to attend the 9/19 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee. However, I would like to reiterate DCR’s commitment to partnering with the Town of Bridgewater, the Wildlands Trust and the Nature Conservancy towards the protection of the Calthrop/Perkins property. With 144 acres of woodlands, one mile of frontage on the Taunton River, extensive wetlands, a number of vernal pools, a historic boulder quarry, and a robust context of adjacent and nearby protected lands, this parcel is certainly worthy of protection and DCR intends to do work towards that goal. I look forward to October, when I can propose this project at the next DCR Lands Committee meeting. Sincerely, Shaun Provencher Land Protection Specialist Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation This letter was transmitted via email on 9/16/11.
