Through our Catholic Faith, GROWING IN MIND, HEART, AND SPIRIT TO BECOME LEADERS IN THE WORLD

Dear Warrior Families:

The other night I was in a meeting, and this prayer was used, and I loved it. As soon as I heard it, I knew I wanted to share it with you. Thank you for making St. Barnabas School what it is!

My Catholic School Community Prayer

My Catholic School Community is composed of people like me.

I help make it what it is.

It will be holy, if I am.

It will be prayerful, if I am.

It will be friendly, if I am.

It will do great work, if I do great work.

Its classrooms will be filled, if I help fill them.

Its adults and young people will grow in charity, if I practice it.

Its ministries will be active and engaged,

if I am active and engaged.

It will draw others into its worship and learning, if I invite them.

Mine will be a Catholic School Community of loyalty and love,

of fearlessness and faith,

of compassion, charity, and mercy,

if I, who make it what it is,

am filled with these same things.

Therefore, with the help of God

and the guidance of our Blessed Mother,

I dedicate myself to the task of being all the things that

my Catholic School Community is called to be.

Amen!

God bless you and all that you do, Mrs. Maddox, Proud Principal

Focus on Strategic Planning:

On September 27th, from 7-9, we will have our final night of focus groups to assist us in our strategic planning. Again, nothing will be asked of you but your insight!

Please consider joining us to share about your hopes and dreams for St. Barnabas Catholic School.

Please RSVP by going to our website at school.stbindy.org. Thank you!

During the first weeks of October, you will be receiving a very short, electronic survey from St. Barnabas School.

When you receive it, please take a moment to complete it and send it back to us. We want to hear from you!

We have received information from I.M.P.D. stating there are parking issues in Hill Valley neighborhood. Specifically, there is a new stop sign at 303 W. Hill Valley Dr. where cars are parking in the intersection, mostly afternoon into the evening.

They also state parking down the street on Rahke Road, on the weekends, St. Barnabas/Perry overflow parking along the street. This is a NO PARKING zone. Parking violations/tickets will be given.

Dinner for Warriors

St. Barnabas School is currently seeking a Coordinator for the 2018 Dinner for Warriors on January 27th! If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail Mrs. Maddox at [email protected]. Thank you!

Walk-A-Thon

Next Friday, students will be participating in our annual Walk-A-Thon. They

will be raising money for Holy Family Shelter. We are accepting donations

which will be used by the shelter to meet the basic needs of families. With

our donations, the shelter will be able to purchase blankets, sheets,

detergent, paper products, medications, toiletries, and food items.

Holy Family Shelter, a program of Catholic Charities Indianapolis, opened in

1984 as the first emergency shelter specifically for homeless families in

Indianapolis. The shelter has the capacity to house up to 22 homeless

families every night. Depending on family size, there is an average of 55-85

individuals living at the shelter daily. Holy Family Shelter works to provide

food, shelter, basic material needs and a safe place to begin the process of

working towards permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Holy Family Shel-

ter annually serves 300 homeless families which include more than 600

homeless children.

Your support is helping us help our community. Thank you for any donation

you can make! Make check payable to St. Barnabas.
