A popular substrate (except for babies under a year) is compressed coconut fiber bricks which needs to be rehydrated with hot water and then used in a completely dry state.

UROMASTYX

These lizards usually acquire all of the water they need from the vegetation they eat. In captivity, they may drink out of a flat dish, but the humidity of the enclosure must be kept low to prevent respiratory problems.

----Uromastyx are burrowing lizards, and need substrate deep enough to borrow in, or a low structure under which to hide. In the wild, these lizards’ burrows can reach 10 feet in length.

They are usually brown and black in color, and there are over 50 "morphs" in color that breeders have obtained. As adults will they can range from 3 to 6 feet (90 to 180 centimeters) in length, with the average being 4 to 5.

Ball Pythons have a reputation for being picky eaters, but this is much more of a problem with snakes caught from the wild rather than captive-bred because they prey-imprint early in life, and it can be difficult to convince them to switch prey items.

Processing Image-------------------------Here is

the information we have found on this species:

Ball Python

The Ball Python (Python regius), also known as the Royal Python, is a ground dwelling snake native to the savannahs and rain forests in western Africa, predominatly the countries of Ghana, Togo, and Benin.

Its name derives from its tendency to curl into a tight "ball" to protect its head on the inside when threatened.

Ball Pythons can be wonderful and interesting pets if handled and cared for properly. Ball Pythons are commonly owned snakes due to their personalities. In captivity most are fed mice as juveniles. Adults will take rats.

Offering different food items instead of just mice usually solves this problem, especially in captive-breed animals.

Lizard is known as a

BEARDED DRAGON

The Central Bearded Dragon or Inland Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps) is a type of agamid lizard. This type is the most commonly seen breed in pet stores throughout the world.

The specialized scales along both sides of the throat, neck, and head form many narrow spines which run down the side of the body to the tail. When feeling threatened a bearded dragon will flatten its body against the ground, puff out its spiny throat, and open its jaws to make itself appear larger.

Bearded dragons come in a wide variety of colors, including brown, gray, reddish-brown, and even orange. They are capable of undergoing very slight changes in the shade of their color to help regulate temperature.

Central bearded dragons are omnivorous. They are voracious eaters, feeding on insects and other invertebrates, and are known to sometimes eat small vertebrates, such as mice, as well. They also occasionally eat soft plant matter such as green leaves, fruits and vegetables, and flowers.

RELAYING INFORMATION

Lizard is known as a

GREEN IGUANA

The green iguana (Iguana iguana) is a large, arboreal lizard from Central and South America. The green iguana is found over a large geographic area, from Mexico to southern Brazil and Paraguay, as well as on the Caribbean Islands.

In captivity Green Iguanas need to be in temperatures of 75 to 90 degrees and must have appropriate sources of UVB and UVA lighting. Without proper UVB lighting they can develop metabolic bone disease which can be fatal if not treated.

These reptiles should be fed a variety of vegetables, editable flowers and various other greens.

The African Spurred Tortoise (Geochelone sulcata) is a species of tortoise which inhabits the southern edge of the Sahara desert, in northern Africa. Their diet provides them with water, and they coat their skin with mud when available to cool off.

RECEIVING:

RELAYING INFORMATION----------------------------SULCATA TORTOISE

They do not hibernate, like many other types of tortoises, due to their natural environment being so close to the equator. They love to dig, and make very long burrows,

They require high fiber diets and many vegetables can cause health problems in large quantities. Red leaf lettuce, cucumbers, hay and clovers are some of the better foods to make up the bulk of their diet.

G. sulcata is the third largest species of tortoise in the world. Adult specimens are usually 18 inches in shell length, and 70 to 100 pounds in weight, with 24 to 30 inch, 150 pound specimens not uncommon.

PYTHON

The carpet python (Morelia spilota), is a species of medium to large semi-arboreal pythons. They are often found near people where they perform a useful service by eating rats and other vermin. They are largely nocturnal, but can also be diurnal. They are found in Australia and New Guinea.

NEW GUINEA

The average adult length is roughly 2 m (6.5 feet).

Carpet pythons are oviparous,

producing as little as 10

eggs, and as many as 50.

Carpet pythons are often referred to beginners as an ideal first pet snake. Although they can grow to a reasonable size and can be nippy as hatchlings, most will grow into docile, trustworthy adults.

----------Rose Hair Tarantula

The Chilean rose tarantula (Grammostola rosea) is probably one of the most common species of tarantula available in pet stores today, originates from the northern Atacama Desert region of Chile, which is one of the driest deserts on earth.

They are relatively docile, quite low maintenance and also very beautiful make them exceedingly good pets. They can be kept quite easily in a terrarium that measures at least twice its leg span in length. G. rosea is a desert species which needs to be kept in low humidity.

They should have water provided in an open dish. Should be kept at temperatures of around 75-80 F, and a diet of four to six crickets every 2 weeks.

Their feeding schedule is particularly erratic, and it is not unusual for them to go on fasts for several weeks to several months or more. Fasting is sometimes an indication of an upcoming moult, but other times comes and goes unexplained.

----------EMPEROR SCORPION

The emperor scorpion (Pandinus imperator) is a species of scorpion native to Africa. The emperor is one of the largest species of scorpion in the world. Adults average about eight inches in length.

The emperor's size, relatively low toxicity, and life span make it the most popular scorpion in the pet trade,

When threat posturing, it turns to face its enemy while holding the claws up and open, arching the tail and stinger over its back. If threat continues the scorpion may sting, but may also pinch. The pinch is strong. The venom is very mild and reportedly similar to a bee sting.
