Austin St.An art-deco 1930s fountain, a bronze statue of Juan Seguin, an old-fashioned bandstand, granite historical markers, and Victorian gas lamps ornament the square. Courthouse Square - Austin St. at Court St.A Texas-sized Pecan stands on the old Courthouse grounds honoring the sizable crops of pecans that make Guadalupe County one of the nation’s leading producers. Old Stagecoach Route - Donegan St. at Austin St. - A panoramic mural by Brent McCarthy recreates the early pioneers and landmarks along the 1800s stagecoach route.

HERITAGE VILLAGE - S. River St. and E. Live Oak St.Los Nogales - Built in 1849 by slaves for a German pioneer. The adobe bricks are like those used in W. Africa and Mexico.Dietz Doll House - A charming 1910 Victorian doll house built by German-born master cabinetmaker Louis Dietz.Texas’ Oldest Standing Protestant Church - This frontier structure, now more than 160 years old, hosted the 1849 Conference of Texas Methodists. Campbell-Hoermann Log Cabin - John Campbell, an immigrant from Ireland, built this cabin for his 23 family members when they came to Texas in 1850.Calaboose - A wheeled jailhouse used to carry prisoners to work.

THE MOORE HOUSE - 703 Johnson Ave. A Queen Anne home built by one of Teddy Roosevelt’s hunting partners in the same style as Roosevelt’s famous estate, Sagamore Hill.

THE POWER PLANT - 2006 Stockdale Hwy. Built in the 1890s to power a cotton mill and later used to power the City, the plant overlooks the Guadalupe River and is now a destination restaurant.

MAGNOLIA HOTEL - 203 S Crockett • http://www.haunted-magnoliahotel.com. Once featured on “Texas Most Endangered Places” list by Texas Preservation and destine for demolition, the Magnolia Hotel has now been rescued by owners Jim and Erin Ghedi. The building was the original Stagecoach Route for the City.

SEBASTOPOL HOUSE HISTORIC SITE - 704 Zorn St., 830-379-4833 - Open Thurs-Sun, with free tours at 9, 10, 11, 1, 2, and 3. A Greek Revival mansion built in 1856 by skilled slaves, Sebastopol is one of the finest surviving 19th-century limecrete buildings in America. Once “The Mother of Concrete Cities,” Se-guin boasted nearly 100 limecrete buildings. Remaining relics can be seen on the “Limecrete Architecture” self-guided tour. Wilson Pottery collection is also on display.
