Unit II: ALL GLORY AND HONOR
Lesson Title: Taking Directions
Printed Text: John 24: 1-14
Unifying Principle Sometimes life seems
humdrum and unproductive. Where can
people recognize purpose and direction for
their lives? When the disciples followed
guidance given by a man on the shore, they
recognized it was Jesus who had given the
directions and they joined Him in fellowship.

Scholarship Applications

The Ministry of
Nurture and
Discipleship is all that
we do as a congregation
to stimulate lifelong learning and lasting
spiritual growth and Christian commitment.
It includes everything that we do as a
congregation to provide, promote, and pay for
a ministry of sound spiritual learning. It is
our commitment to Christian discipleship
development.

The Ministry of Social Justice is our
commitment to living out the Great
Commandment of Jesus Christ, "And you
shall love the Lord your God...this is the first
commandment. And the second, You shall
love your neighbor as yourself. There is no
other commandment greater than these (Mark
12:30-31). Through the social ministries of
the church we seek to live out a clear biblical
mandate for "biblical righteousness and
justice." We seek to be a living witness of
God's grace and love for all of humanity. This
ministry is devoted to serving as the
congregation's voice in the areas of social
justice, social concern, social change and
social ministry. Through this ministry, we
seek to be visibly present in the community
where we are planted. It is our means for
serving as God's agent of social
transformation. Social Ministry is our work on
the Home Mission field.

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology is
all that we do as a congregation to engage the
senses through the use of multi-media
technology and in our worship. Through this
ministry we seek to create a dynamic
experience in worship through the effective
use of audio, video, lighting, and the latest
advances in music technology. The Ministry
of Innovation and Technology provides the
platform for the church to engage the culture
through the use of Social Media portals of
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social
media channels. The Ministry of Innovation
and Technology utilizes social and communal
blogs as a means for reaching the larger
community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Through this ministry we develop, update,
and fully operate our website and mobile app,
two of the most important outreach and
informational tools.

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
18 “Do not call to mind the former things,
Or ponder things of the past. 19 “Behold, I will do something new,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert. 20 “The beasts of the field will glorify Me,
The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I have given waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My chosen people.
