The Seminar will discuss:

Bus policy and funding.

Bus technological developments.

Bus proposals for the future and opportunities for joint working.

Who should attend: Practitioners from the Transport, Planning, Policy, Environmental Health, and Public Transport professions who want to hear of funding opportunities, best practice, and working together to support air quality improvement through new bus industry technology application.

The Scottish Transport Emissions Partnership (STEP) provides a forum that will promote transparent dialogue and debate between the key stakeholders and encourage a healthy exchange of information and experience on key issues relating to improving air quality

The partnership meets quarterly, holds regular knowledge sharing events, and hosts the STEP Annual Conference in November.

Speakers

Tony Pettitt , Director of Resources at Reading Buses, has extensive experience of public transport planning in the UK and overseas, having worked as a consultant, and with local authorities, for more than 30 years.

Gloria Esposito, Head of Projects, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, leads a portfolio of projects aimed at expanding low carbon fuel and vehicle markets in the UK.

Jonathan Dennis, Environmental Economics advisor, Transport Scotland, provides in-house environmental economics support on environmental economics, transport policy, and climate change.

Steve Cornes, Nottingham City Council, has been instrumental in the delivery of the Nottignham City Council electric bus partnership.

Dr Steve Johnson, Environmental Adviser, University of Glasgow, has significant previous experience of the UK bus industry and the journey of sustainable approach in Scotland.

Emma Roy, Environmental Officer, Lothian Buses, Emma is the dedicated Environmental Officer at Lothian Buses, Edinburgh and the Lothians biggest bus company, and is responsible for delivering a group wide strategy to manage and improve the environmental aspirations of the business.

Dr Stephen Thomson, Head of Environment and Sustainability, Transport Scotland, is leading across Transport Scotland to support delivery of the Low Emission Strategy for Scotland.

Paul Walker, Acting Head of Transport Highways and Parking, Southampton City Council, is an experienced transport professional having led partnership projects, and dealt with stakeholders at many different levels.

Andrew Win, Senior City Development Executive at Aberdeen City Council, is project manager for Aberdeen City Council's involvement the Aberdeen Hydrogen Project - a 20 Million European Union project that will see the introduction of 10 hydrogen fuel cell buses, together with the infrastructure to facilitate this new technology
