Document Flow in Procurement + Transportation

As an example, we show how procurement and transportation visibility are combined. (Follow the instructions in the configuration guides under http://service.sap.com/scm Supply Chain Event Management Visibility Processes to activate this.)

Page 20: Scm Event Management

Integration with Document Flow - Details

Relationships can be defined between different event handlers (EHs), but also to event messages that implicitly represent another business object.

Specific Customizing is available. Each EH needs to instantiate its document flow network with the help of an update activity. For updating the network, you need to include the activity DF_UPDATE in your rule set.

To make the document flow display available in the Web front end (EH list and EH detail screen), a switch is available in the user profile. An active accessibility flag means that a table display is shown instead.

Process Overview with Status Icon

You can now use an icon schema to display EH set statuses so that it is possible to identify critical processes at first glance. This is especially interesting for more complex processes such as in plant engineering and construction.

Page 24: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 24

Process Overview with Status Icon - Details

Maintain a status icon schema for the EH set statusAssign the respective status icon schema to your EH set profileCreate the respective configured field (e.g. SET_STATUS_ICON:PARCEL) and use it in your EH set display profile

Alternatively, you can also assign an icon directly to the respective status attribute values. This applies also to EHs.

Page 25: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 25

Multiple Parameters Input (Web Front End)

Allows sending of multiple objects (parameters, attachments, and so on) when sending an event message for one or more EHs.

Page 26: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 26

Multiple Parameters Input (Web Front End) - Details

The number of possible input values is fixed in Customizing for the Web front end.You need to provide the respective index in the ‘Row Number’ field.

Page 27: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 27

Uppercase Search and Storage (Web Front End)

When you use a parameter in a selection profile, the search field used to be case sensitive. We now provide a mechanism so that users are not forced to fill in the value exactly as it is stored in the database.

Page 28: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 28

Uppercase Search and Storage (Web Front End) -Details

There is a new indicator in Customizing for configured fields. The indicator for uppercase search applies to both the search and the event sending page.

Page 29: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 29

Display of Indexed Parameters (Web Front End)

Multiple values can be stored as indexed parameters. In process manufacturing, for example, you may have material ‘A’ as the primary product and ‘B’ as a co-product, and store both values in a parameter material.

Now there is a mechanism in place that enables a more user-friendly and flexibledisplay of indexed parameters.

Page 30: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 30

Display of Indexed Parameters (Web Front End) - Details

In Customizing for configured fields, you provide the number of values that are to be shown directly on the screens. Further values are shown in a popup when you click the “more” link.If nothing is entered or the number entered is greater than the number of entries, every value is displayed and no link appears. If no index number is entered, the given data field length is checked and the field may be cut off.

Page 31: Scm Event Management

Assignment of Reason Codes to Event Code

Usually, reason codes occur together with specific event codes. An input help is now available for reason codes when sending event messages.

Page 32: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 32

Assignment of Reason Codes to Event Code - Details

Assign all relevant reason codes to your internal event codes to be able to make use of the input helpIf no reason codes are specified for an event code, a free text field is available instead.

Default Display Sequence of Expected Events

The sorting sequence has been changed so that an entry with no specified planned date and no actual date appears at the end of the list. A BAdI is available with which to change the default sequence.

Virus Check for Attachment Upload (Web Front End)

For further information, please refer to http://help.sap.com/nw04 →SAP NetWeaver → Security → System Security → Virus Scan Interface.

When uploading an attachment to SAP EM, a virus scan is performed. If problems occur, a warning message is sent to the user.

PrerequisitesA virus scan provider must have been set up in the J2EE Engine Visual AdministratorThe Visual Scan Execution indicator in the global manager settings of the SAP EM Web front end administration must be active.

Page 35: Scm Event Management

Single Sign-On Language (Web Front End)

The SAP EM Web front end automatically enables the Single Sign-On (SSO) function if an SSO cookie is found in the browser session. When logging on to the Web front end with SSO, you can now set the user language with an optional parameter.

DetailsThe language can be provided with the help of a portal variable. If not provided with the URL, the language is determined by the first supported locales in the SAP EM Web front end settings.

Example:http://emserver.wdf.sap.corp:50000/scem/q1p001/login?LoginLanguage=en

Page 38: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 38

Additional Time Categories for Expected Events

Besides the concept of defining and monitoring regular milestones, a set of user-defined time stamps related to an expected event is introduced. This is of special interest for industries with complex and lengthy manufacturing processes, forexample, in order-based manufacturing.

Page 39: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 39

Additional Time Categories for Expected Events -Details

The expected event has five additional date/time/time zone fields. These can be set by

The application system (via the SAP EM application interface)Manual input in SAP EM (SAPGUI transaction)Sending an event message

Display of these fields is also possible within the Web front end.

ExampleSomeone orders a car at a dealer. The car is planned to be built on a certain date (based on expected resource capacity). However, another date is communicated to the customer (to have more buffer time). An additional expected date needs to be visible reflecting the internal maximum time to build and deliver the car. If you reschedule the first calculated date, this would be a fourth category of time since you cannot simply overwrite the first value because you need it for performance analysis at a later point in time.

Page 44: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 44

Pass Language to the Alert Framework

At the moment, the logon language determines the language of the alert message text. In international companies though, the language needs to be determined from case to case.

DetailsIn the ALERT_CREATE activity, the optional parameter <language> passes the language that is to be chosen for the alert text.

Page 45: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 45

Dynamic Assignment of URL for Alerting

To allow customers to run SAP EM in their usual system environment (development, test and productive systems), they need more flexibility in providing the SAP EM Web front end URL.

DetailsIf the optional parameter <page> is given in the ALERT_CREATE activity, the URL is built dynamically and appended to the alert text. The URL can also still be provided with a fixed value in the alert category.

Authorization with Indexed Parameters

SAP EM has an indexing concept that allows the storage of multiple values for one parameter. A new configuration option isavailable to define whether at least one or all authorization restrictions must be fulfilled in the case of multiple parametervalues.

DetailsBoolean operator in authorization profile

Page 51: Scm Event Management

SAP AG 2005, SAP Event Management 51

Identify EH Recreation

If the expected events of an EH are changed (milestone added, and so on), the original EH is technically deleted and recreated. All event messages that have been posted to this EH are then processed again. This behavior can now be suppressed.

DetailsStandard activity method CHECK_REPROCESS_FLAG identifies if you are in reprocessing mode or not. You then can skip some activities that have already been performed during the creation of the original EH and are not to be performed again.

Page 52: Scm Event Management
