hasservedclientsingovernmentandthebanking,electronics,and oilandgasindustries.Forthepast14months,hehasbeenworking onaprojectwithanoffshorebankheadquarteredinBermuda.
When did you begin working for IBM? Iwasofferedthejobtwomonthsaftergraduation.Butthenetworking,application,andinterviewingprocess began long before that.
How did CCU prepare you for your career?CCU prepared me intellectually and as a disciple of Christ to the corporate world. I developed critical thinkingskills,wastrainedtobeaneffectivepublicspeaker,andmybusinessprofessorsbroughtawealth of real-world experience into the classroom. Every course also featured an element of ethicstraining.CCUisasmallschool,butthatdidn’tpreventmefromgettingintoaFortune500company.WeneedmoreChristianleadersinthecorporateworld,andthisisagreatplacetostartthatjourney.
What advice would you give to a student considering this career?Commit to each of your classes and take advantage of every learning opportunity. Set high goals and don’tsellyourselfshort.Learntotakeinitiative,becomeastrongcommunicator,andadaptquicklytonewandchangingenvironments.Thebusinessconsultingindustryisdynamic,challenging,andfast-paced,andit’sagreatcareerifyouenjoymeetingnewpeopleandworkingcollaborativelytosolvedifficult issues.
