EV3 Robots EV3 Robots have changed the way we think about robotics by making it possible for anyone to build real, working robots. This EV3 program is great for young and enthusiastic kids and teens who like building and designing new things. It begins with the basics as campers build and program a simple robot to experiment with motors, sensors, and EV3 programming. Then, they advance to a series of increasingly sophisticated robots that will show them how to work with advanced programming techniques like data wires, variables, and custom-made programming blocks. They will also learn essential building techniques like how to use beams, gears, and connector blocks effectively in their own designs.

LEGO® Robotics Kids will experience amazing weeks filled with fun while learning basic static structures used in robotics by applying the fundamentals of math and science concepts. They will build their robots and program them using specialized software. They will enjoy playing and learning how pneumatics works, using sensors and motors. They will build renewable energy projects and understand how this concept works. They will also make their own robotics creations. Campers will compete with their robots in mini team competitions and demonstrate their projects in a Show & Tell to the parents. Each week a different camp! Each week a different challenge! Week 1: Giant Robotic Zoo, Week 2: Tech and Mechanic Explorers, Week 3: Renewable Energy Robots, Week 4: Power the Universe.

Rube Goldberg Machines Building a Rube Goldberg Machine that uses a number of whimsical, counter-intuitive steps to accomplish a simple task is a fun challenge, and it’s the perfect way to learn physics and engineering. In order to make the entire creation work, each of the machine’s steps must be as efficient as possible and take into account various physics principles, such as action-reaction, gravity force, and more. Participants will gain hands-on engineering experience by working in small groups to construct a Rube Goldberg machine: hands-on experience using tools to construct complicated machines, creative problem solving and teamwork, enriching social activities.

Underwater Robots Underwater Robots Camp provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics while building an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) as part of a science and engineering curriculum. Throughout the project, students learn engineering concepts, problem-solving techniques, teamwork, and technical applications. This program teaches students how to build an underwater robot, build a propulsion system, develop a controller, and investigate weight and buoyancy. This camp is modeled after the standards of the Office of Naval Research’s SeaPerch Program, and it encourages career exploration in marine biology and oceanography.
