Teacher of the Month Strategy Plan of Action
Plan We developed a plan to recognize our teachers for their hard work and dedication to demonstrating the new Teacher Standards. 1. After discussion with the
principal and school leadership team, intern develop a recognition process for teachers with the assistant principal
2. Teacher of the Month was created by the assistant principal and the principal intern
3. Plans was to recognize a teacher per month that was selected by their department that currently align their teaching practices with the teacher standards

Organize Organized by the Assistant Principal and Principal Intern • Developing a system to
honor teachers and their alignment with the teacher standards
Execute • Developed a form for department chairperson to complete regarding their selected teacher of the month candidate
• Candidates were elected around the teacher standards
• Elected members of the school leadership team presented their candidate to the school leadership team member for voting

Execute • Created an online evaluation scoring item for elected members of the school leadership team to vote on their candidate of choice
• Members would present the information to the team outlining the standards by the form created by the intern
• Members voted using the Google document created by intern
• A tally was generated • Intern notified principal of
the top three candidate and the winner
• Winner was announced via email and at the faculty meeting
• Outline of winners prizes for being selected

Facilitate • Each month, we would meet with the school leadership team
• Principal would delegate the team on how and where to vote using the online instrument
• Intern would monitor the online instrument for tally of votes and accountability for departments in voting
• Laptop was supplied for parent and student representative

Assess • Currently, we have honored two teachers with the teacher of the month
• Currently revising the nomination form for the school leadership team to present to their departments
• Award system includes Incentives for Teacher of the month includes:One month duty free Classroom coverage for one full day or two class periods Certificate of Excellence Recognition at the monthly staff meeting Picture displayed on the announcements and website
Recognition on the school newspaper and/or Monday Musings
Picture and demographic information displayed on a display case devoted specifically to our Teacher of the Month Paraphernalia

It is critical to recognized the accomplishments of teachers
School culture and climate are critical to establish at any school
Recognition must align with teacher standards to re-enforce principal expectations (State Expectations)
Re-evaluate how the nomination instrument is used
More information on the teacher standards (training/professional development)
More accountability on ensuring the incentive are rewarded to the teacher
