IMPORTANT: PREP ENROLMENTS for 2015 – URGENT!
We need to have our Prep enrolments for 2015 finalised as soon as possible. At this stage, we have over
100 Prep enrolments, and it is very important that we have accurate figures so we can plan for enough
teachers and classes for next year. If any of our current families have children in kindergarten and are
intending to have them attend Bellbridge next year, we need you to complete an enrolment form now, if
you have not already done so.
Contact our Office (9749 6161) if you have any questions or concerns.

PRINCIPAL WRITES
NO PARENT PARKING IN THE STAFF CAR PARKS AT ALL
We continue to have parents using the Staff Car Parks and putting students’ safety at risk.
This situation has been an issue raised by parents at the past two School Council meetings.
Because of the ongoing concern for safety our School Council has decided to make the
Staff Car Parks off limits to all parents. This means that the special permits authorised by
the Principal are no longer valid. All parents are reminded to park in acceptable parking spaces around the school (Matlock Street,
Bellbridge Drive, Macedon Street) as the Wyndham Council Parking Inspectors will be monitoring
parking around our school.

BELLBRIDGE PS WEB PAGE www.bellbridgeps.vic.edu.au
Our new web page had its official launch on Friday, August 8th. All classrooms logged on to the school
website at 1:45pm and proceeded to explore the many aspects of our web page. This includes general
information, photos, policies and documents. The ‘eldest & only child’ in each family also received a
fridge magnet with updated school contact details for easy reference at home.
We hope your family has had some time to explore our new web page. We believe it is an excellent
communication tool that can be accessed between home and school.
SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
The annual School Athletics Carnival was held at the Victoria University Sports Field last week. The
weather was glorious and students in Grades 3 – 6 had a wonderful day competing in their House Sports
teams of Middleton (Red), Coker (Blue), Gillard (Yellow) and Hughes (Green). All students earned
points for their House for attempting and/or gaining 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in a range of events that included:
100, 200, 400 metres race, long jump, high jump, hurdles, discus and relays. Some of our students will
now represent Bellbridge when they compete in these events at the District Athletics later this term.
If you are near the Office you might like to check out the digital display of the Athletics Carnival Day.
PLAY GROUP at BELLBRIDGE
Our Play Group sessions have been a wonderful success, with eight parents and 12 pre-schoolers/toddlers
attending each week. They will continue to meet every Thursday morning between 8:30 – 10:30am in the
Out of School Hours Care rooms. At the moment the program is at capacity but interested parents are
welcome to contact the Office and have their name put on the waiting list.
CADBURY CHOCOLATE DRIVE
We really appreciate the wonderful support our families have given to the annual Cadbury Chocolate
Fundraiser. Families who still have unsold chocolates need to return them to the Office as soon as
possible. Several families have sold more than one box of chocolates which has been very helpful. If
your family would like to sell more chocolates, please contact the Office by phone or letter to arrange for
the collection of another box.

COLLECTION OF CHILDREN DURING SCHOOL HOURS
The school has noticed an increase in the number of parents collecting their children during school hours.
Parents are now required to wait at the office while a call is made to the classroom teacher requesting the
student be sent to the office. If children are being collected during recess and lunch, the process can be more
difficult. Therefore we ask that when collecting your child, please be at the school prior to or after the
recess and lunch breaks. We also ask that a note be sent to school advising the teacher that you will be
picking your child up at a certain time that day.
PE NEWS
