What are Scholarships?• “Free money” for college• Unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid to the sponsor• Some scholarships are awarded directly to the student;

others to the college or university• Different kinds of scholarship sources:

• Local groups and clubs• Charitable foundations• Businesses• Schools• Colleges• Government organizations

Who Can Get Scholarships?• There are some special scholarships for types of students• Athletes• Students studying in a particular field• Students who are involved in community service• Students that live in particular cities and states• There are so many scholarships for all types of students
