• Scandinavia is a historical and
geographical region covering
much of Northern Europe.
• The region includes:
• Norway
• Sweden
• Denmark
• Finland
• Iceland
• the languages spoken in Scandinavia are called
North Germanic Languages, and include Danish,
Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Faroese.
• The major cities in Scandinavia are the capitals of
the five countries: Stockholm (Sweden), Oslo

• Sweden is a country located in Northern Europe
bordering the Baltic Sea, Gulf of Bothnia, Kattegat
and Skagerrak.
• The geography of Sweden is mostly flat with
mountains in the west. The government system is a

King and the head of government is the Prime
Minister.
• Sweden has a mixed economic system in which
there is a variety of pirate freedom, combined with
centralised member economic planning and

Stockholm Palace
• he Royal Palace is one of the
largest palaces in Europe. It’s
the official residence of His
Majesty the King of Sweden.

Nicodemus Tessin and is
formed as a Roman palace.

rooms divided between seven
floors with a state apartment
facing the city and smaller living

ICEHOTEL
• ICEHOTEL is the world’s first
and largest hotel built of snow
and ice and it is situated in
Jukkasjärvi, a small village in
Northern Sweden with 1,100
residents and 1,000 dogs.
• It covers 5,500 square meters
and is constructed from 1,000
tonnes of Torne River ice and
30,000 tons of “snice”, a mixture
of snow and ice that
strengthens the structure.
Visby
• Visby is one of Scandinavia's
preeminent medieval cities.
Every August, it hosts its
medieval week, complete with
authentic dress, feasts and
jousting.
