NEWSLETTER ISSUE 6 JUNE 2018 On May 17 th the SBCC honored our 2018 Scholarship Awards recipients with a dinner at Tuscarora Inn & Conference Center. Congratulations again to all. Special thanks to Merchants Bank for partnering with the SBCC in sponsoring the awards dinner. Without our annual Scholarship Golf Classic and all of our sponsors these awards would not be possible. With this in mind, GOLFERS ARE WANTED, CALL TODAY! Mark your calendar and join us on July 16 th for a fun day packed with golf, networking, food, prizes and more! Proceeds benefit 100% of our Scholarship program. See attached Flyer. Pictured State Rep. Highlights as follows: The committee will be working with LVEDC and the state of Pennsylvania on a program called “PA Engage”. Committee members will be conducting interviews with local businesses in the Slate Belt. We want to hear about and understand your business needs and connect you with the right resources. We hope you will participate. The SBCC held a forum with the Lehigh Valley Health Network’s community Health Needs Assessment Conversations. We would like to thank all the participants, your input was valuable in assessing the health needs of our community. The data collected will be compiled and released later this year. Annual Bi Chamber Clambake is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15 th . Again we would like to invite you to participate in a silent auction during the clambake at Bady’s Grove, Wind Gap. Our committee is canvassing chamber members to contribute a gift of your choice for the silent auction. We also have an incentive plan that you will find hard to ignore! We are offering you the opportunity to obtain free clambake tickets that will coincide with the value of your donation. Valued donations of $100-$150, you may purchase one ticket at ½ price. $150 and over you will receive 1 complimentary tickets. Your donation may be dropped off at the chamber office or we can pick it up. Should you wish to make a contribution, please contact the office by email

Thanks to Three Brothers Beverage for holding their Spring Craft Beer Event. This event collected boxes of food for our local food pantries.
