As a new decade begins, we celebrate 35 years of Coldstream Hills wines, and reminisce about vintages past. The Yarra Valley holds a special place in the rich history of Australian winemaking, and we are proud to be a part of it.

With Autumn comes the hustle and bustle of vintage in the Yarra Valley, the perfect time to taste and consider the evolution of previous releases as I create the new.

This collection spans five incredible vintages and includes brand new releases of our Yarra Valley wines. A respectful toast to vintages gone by at Coldstream Hills, and vintages yet to come. Our 2019 Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are new releases and highlight a compressed harvest period in the winery. Expect generousity and length of flavour, texture and juicy acidity. Our new vintage 2018 Yarra Valley Merlot is also a cracking release, plush and textural, with fruit exclusively from our famed

Amphitheatre Vineyard.

In this years’ Autumn collection, we have included the full suite of our Reserve wines – 2018 Reserve Chardonnay, 2014 Reserve Shiraz, 2018 Reserve Pinot Noir and 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. A wonderful opportunity to sample from the finest parcels of our Yarra Valley vineyards, each an expression of site and season with remarkable ageability.

We’re exceptionally pleased to note that we have had a successful 2019 Wine Show season. Our 2015 Sparkling won Trophy and Top Gold at the 2019 Yarra Valley Wine Show, a beautiful Yarra vintage and much-welcomed nod to the quality of our Sparkling wines. Our elegant and aromatic 2018 Reserve Chardonnay continues to demonstrate a consistent and prolific wine show pedigree, with two Gold medals from the 2019 Royal Queensland and 2019 Melbourne Wine Shows. Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

and 2018 Rising Vineyard Chardonnay have also each scored a Gold medal, rounding out the tally at five Gold medals and a trophy. Critical reception has also proved to be overwhelmingly positive, with our Single Vineyard and Reserve Chardonnays in the 2018 vintage all receiving 95 points and above from Ned Goodwin. Our trio of Reserve reds have also performed well, each scoring 94 points and above.

2019 Coldstream Hills Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc An elegant new vintage Sauvignon BlancFrom the reaches of the cool upper Yarra, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is complete with a small portion of Rising Vineyard Semillon. The wine dazzles with aromatic notes of passionfruit, gooseberry and nettle and a hint of minerality.
