Hands up all readers who can remember when you had your last annual health exam? If the calendar is turning on more than one year for those over age 50, time to pick up the phone, said Dr. A. Bebawy of Queens Medical Clinic. The family physician said it’s important to keep up to date on such physical check ups as a prevention measure. Blood tests to keep an eye on cholesterol levels and mammograms and colonoscopies for cancer as well as bone density and diabetes tests are some of the recommended early detection tools. Those under the age of 50 in overall good health and with- out any concerning personal or family history should get a med- ical screening every two years. But with all too packed to-do lists in the fast-paced world, recalling the last date is a tall order. But unlike the reminder call from the dentist or eye doctor’s office, the responsibility to keep track of the last physical is up to each patient. Dr. Bebawy advises people to pick a memorable date such as a birthday or, just call the office and ask whether another exam is due. Her two-year-old practice at 1289 Marlborough Court (unit 5A), across from Sheridan College on Trafalgar Road, is a busy one already with a mix of young, mature and more mature peo- ple, but Dr. Bebawy‘s fellow physicians in the Queens Medical Clinic are accepting new patients. Walk-in visits are also welcome six days a week. The importance of having an annual health exam

If you have ever suffered with venous disorder, compression stocking may help.

Medical compression stockings provide a gradu-ated compression.
