Satanism: Tradition and the Sinister Way Order of the Deorc Fyre, 1995The Left Handed Path is intuitive dark and individualistic. It is the Path to desire magick and heresy. For those who practice the 'Black Arts', there are no impositions, or restrictions, no moral dichotomy, only the desire to experience, to know, and to progress. The most overt expression of the Left Hand, or Sinister Path, is Satanism. Satanism, as an ethos, or Way of Life, embodies both the individualism and the morality (q.v. Order MS 'A Master-Morality') of those who are not a part of the common ruck of the herd. A bona fide Satanist can never be anything but what it is in their nature to be, to become; just as it is this 'recognising', or awareness, that stirs what was previously known only at a purely instinctive level. At this stage the 'unfolding', or Physis, of the Self has begun. Satanism creates individuals capable of transcending the matrix of illusion that is abstract moral-dualism. Many observers fail to recognise this fact misunderstanding the adepts awareness of the interplay of polarities for dualism; not realising it is the adept's understanding of the dynamism of the cosmos interacting free of a human morality. Satanists are proud and stalwart, dangerous and honourable, hence the name Satanism: The Way of Satan - and the path of strength over weakness. Satanism is defiant in its confrontations with the herd; smashing down its most sacred of cows.Magickally (as well as practically), Initiates of The Sinister Way not only acquire an awareness of their own unique destiny or Wyrd, but as a natural consequence of this, they are also able to understand the real nature of existence. This understanding, of both circumstance and society, enables a few to create change; to influence some of the forces at play. Those same forces or energies which the Black Magickian uses to induce change in concordance with desire also create change, by virtue of contagion, within the Magickian (q.v. Order MSS 'Contagia' and 'Dark Forces'). The alchemical change wrought within the Magickian not only results in a deeper awareness of the microcosm contained therein but the macrocosm external. Of course this is not always the case, some individuals fail to grasp the importance of this awakening; others become anxious and conceal themselves from its glaring light in indignation at the savage blow to their sacred believes. All too often there is a failure to the beginning of wisdom. When a specific approach to knowledge has proven successful, it must be faithfully passed onto those who follow. This is the essence of Tradition: consistency and expediency. For Tradition, like all magick is a means whereby certain energies - and by implication change - can be made manifest. Traditional Satanism is not dogma ('infernally' inspired or otherwise) or a fetter of any kind to the individual; but a device (it might best be explained as a 'psychotronic device') where energies are 'grounded' and directed toward a specific goal, or left to dissipate if not needed for an immediate purpose. A Tradition must evoke in those who adhere to it the intuitive nature of its aficionados, it must arouse racial and cultural instincts, and to do this it must use symbolism that is imbued with a certain 'sacredness'. The Order Of The Deorc Fyre's ethos is derived from the Western esoteric Tradition so that it might 'touch' its Initiates more profoundly. In this way the Order is itself a magickal expression of the Western ethos.Of course there are other occult Traditions: The Golden Dawn and its heir the OTO, or Ordo Templi Orientis; and the relatively new trend of Chaoism, as expounded by the IOT, or Illuminatas of Thanatos. Not one of these Traditions reflect the Promethean vision of Western civilisation; instead their teachings are derived from the messianic Cabala. At its heart the Cabala is the magickal expression of Judeo-Christianity - or more precisely the cult of the Magi. This alien creed, perpetrated by the servants of Jehovah, has helped to subvert the magickal destiny of the West by infecting the source of all magick: culture itself. The Cabala has perpetuated, and reinforced the dualistic-morality that has resulted in the distortion of this the 5th, or Western Aeon. Moreover, as a Tradition, Cabalism epitomises the stagnation and philosophical bankruptcy of old aeon obfuscation. Many who claim to walk the Fiery Path spread the infection like vermin. With the demise of The Golden Dawn, the Tradition was passed on to the OTO to continue, replete with Aleister Crowley's confused Cabalistic correspondences and decadent attitude toward both culture and magick. Chaoism is also adding to the evolutionary confusion of the West, with its grab-bag of Cabalistic and old aeon archetypes and symbolism. It this pernicious mixing of philosophies, coupled with the over intellectualisation of magick that will continue to perpetrate this state of imbalance. As has been stated previously, The Sinister Way is the antithesis of the above esoteric Traditions. It is not based on the projected delusions of a religious mentality, but an empathy with, and use of, those energies and forces which constitute the quintessence of Nature.A Tradition draws like minded individuals to aid in the attainment of shared goals. The Order Of The Deorc Fyre sees these goals as being two-fold: the first is the creation of a new type of Human Being - Homo-Galactica, or to put it in Nietzschean terms, 'Higher-Man'. The second is the creation of a new reality born from this noble individual. One is implicit to the other, as is the West's star bound destiny of the conquest of the outer limits of existence. The manner in which esoteric organisations realise their goals is dependent on the Tradition their teachings are founded upon, it is this which sparks the first intimation of what lies beyond the everyday, the mundane. For the Cabala that goal is ultimately union with Yahweh; for Sinister Tradition it is the continuance of evolution. For once the 'Prometheun Fire' has been lit within the Initiate, the collective energies that represent the essence of the Order, or its Tradition, spread further to incite change in others. In this way a Tradition becomes more than a method employed to achieve specific goals, it becomes a force in its own right.
