Preparation:Basecoat entire piece with Americana Décor Chalky Finish Paint - Relic, Let dry. Lightly sand and then apply thin coat of Americana Décor Chalky Finish Paint – Rouge. You can thin with a little water. Let Dry and sand lightly. Transfer main pattern lines and basecoat as follows:*Face- Mocha*Eye, Glove & band on coat-Black*Beard-Neutral Grey1

*All Fur-Cocoa*Coat & Band on hat-Bleached Sand*Hat & Gown-Purple Cow*Sack-Desert Sand* Candle Cup-Bleached Sand, Band around top with Emperors Gold

Painting Instructions:* Face-Shade around with Gingerbread* Beard- Shade under nose and under cheek and bottom of beard with Zinc. Deepen with Payne’s Grey.* All Fur, band on hat and coat- Shade with Burnt Umber* Hat , Gown and folds in coat- Shade with Dioxa-zine Purple* Sack- Shade with Mississippi Mud. Deepen with Burnt Umber** Add string & bow around sack with Black.* Add lines on coat with a watery mix of Missis-sippi Mud

Transfer the pattern for the vines, berries & leaves.Basecoat berries with Calico Red, Leaves with Mistletoe and Vines with Burnt Umber.* Shade all berries with Black Plum, Highlight with Fiery Red. Shade leaves with Plantation Pine. Shade with Thermal Green.

Dry brushing:Face , glove & Sack- lightly dry brush with Bleached Sand Cheeks- with Heritage BrickHat & Gown- with Soft Lilac

Beard:Use the ¼” Filbert Comb and a watery mix of Neutral Grey & Bleached Sand. 50/50 mix. Lightly add the hairs to the beard. Once this is dry use a watery mix of White to add more hairs to beard.

Fur:Use a Stipple Brush size that is comfortable for you to use. Pounce one side with Cocoa and the other with Bleached Sand. Lightly Pounce. Once this is dry (Do Not clean your brush) Pounce into White and add a touch of white to the fur. You can add more once all is dry.

Finishing:**Add the scroll on gown with Emperors Gold. Use the same color add to band on coat and rib-bon on sack. ** Use Emperors Gold to stencil the star at the top and on the base.** Use White to add all snowfl akes. Shade around the outer edge of entire piece with Black.Once piece is entirely dry. Use an old brush and a watery mix of White and tap brush to add the splatter on the entire piece. Sand entire piece and fi nish with several light coats of DecoArt Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher – Matte.
