Diagnostic Assessment

• Ascertaining the students knowledge prior to instruction aids the teacher in finding the students strengths, weaknesses, knowledge and skills. To help determine these teachers can use information obtained from outside sources than analysis by the teacher on a student and class basis.

• This will be discussed more closely in intervention.

In Conclusion• Today’s objectives are to show how to…

– Align the FCS, Math and Reading Standards using the Standards Aligned System. – I hope I did that by outlining the SAS system and how it

pertains to FCS– Uses 21st Century skills in both lessons and assessment.

– I hope the viewing of student exemplars and multimedia resources show the use of 21st Century Skills in FCS

– find professional development for FCS and be involved.– I hope you will try to join some professional

organization or attend a conference or workshop
