Dorvalina's family lives in BotafogShe has taken an active part in the Suday school there not only because she hdedicated her life to teaching childrabout Jesus, but because she hopeswin he r own loved ones to Him. She rmembers how difficult it wa s fo r her whshe first went to work as a helper in thEwing home in 1953. Sh e heard DonCay talk often of J esus an d sh e couoverhear Senhor Ricax do praying fher soul. But she came from a long liof Roman Catholics and while she founthe simple gospel attract ive, she did ndare think ser iously about the heret icreligion. Then Dick and Cay left to rtui-n to the U. S. on furlough and as thetold her good-bye they reminded her ththey would continue their prayers evethough they were far away. She staye^ work for Ruth Spurgeon and ElleCase. And then came the day when shfound that four missionaries' prayer wetoo much for her. Believing on the LorJesus Christ as her only and personSavior, she gave up the religion of hefamily and became a Christ ian, but nwithout much protest, weeping and waiing from her mother and a sound beatinfrom her o l de r b rot her .Since then Dorvalina has dedicated he

Fromprison bars th e older brother told Dorvalina, This would not have happened ifhad been a Chris t ian.Dorvalina has not only helped in thBotafogo Bible School and women s meeings, but has been trained by Ruth Spurgeon as a nurses assistant. She hel pMiss Spurgeon greatly in he r medicawork, administering simple first-aid, giving injections and changing dressings.Sefor Bueno
