San Luis Valley Colorado Land For Sale

Craigslist Post reprint. Title “$19500 40 Acres in Prepper Heaven the San Luis Valley (Alamosa)” Absolutely the perfect spot to put up a prepper hideaway. And cheap! The last property on a deadend road way off the beaten path, yet wonderfully close to conveniences by car. 6 miles down the road is a country store and gas station in the little hamlet of Mosca, and big town Alamosa is just another 10 miles South of there. Since the nearest power line is a couple miles away, there hasn't been much of any development nearby; so after the big collapse, there won't be neighbors knocking on your door asking for food and water. And when it comes to power, this is absolutely one of the best spots IN THE NATION for solar power! In fact, there's a huge solar farm a few miles down the road next to the Alligator Farm. You read that right: Alligators in the middle of the Colorado Mountains! Seems they have a geothermal well that spews out 87 degree water all day and night, and the critters just love it. That's the other thing that might just be under this property. Never know till ya drill. I was planning to build a $20k 50x100 steel arch building on the property Underground. Just dig a hole, build and bury. No one would know it's there. You could attach a 50' wide arch hoop greenhouse on one end, and kinda build up the ground a bit around it so no one could see it from the road; but you'd have this huge greenhouse and building. Heating and cooling would be easy with the steel building underground like that. Drill your water well right underneath or next to it with 40 acres you don't have to get water rights in Colorado. You just get a permit and dig a well for household use and irrigating up to an acre of garden. This is an excellent location for lots of postapocalyptic scenarios. I don't think there's anything

Title “$19500 40 Acres in Prepper Heaven the San LuisValley (Alamosa)”

Absolutely the perfect spot to put up a prepper hideaway. And cheap!

The last property on a deadend road way off the beaten path, yet wonderfully close toconveniences by car. 6 miles down the road is a country store and gas station in the little hamletof Mosca, and big town Alamosa is just another 10 miles South of there.

Since the nearest power line is a couple miles away, there hasn't been much of anydevelopment nearby; so after the big collapse, there won't be neighbors knocking on your doorasking for food and water. And when it comes to power, this is absolutely one of the best spotsIN THE NATION for solar power! In fact, there's a huge solar farm a few miles down the roadnext to the Alligator Farm. You read that right: Alligators in the middle of the Colorado Mountains!Seems they have a geothermal well that spews out 87 degree water all day and night, and thecritters just love it. That's the other thing that might just be under this property. Never know till yadrill.

I was planning to build a $20k 50x100 steel arch building on the property Underground. Just diga hole, build and bury. No one would know it's there. You could attach a 50' wide arch hoopgreenhouse on one end, and kinda build up the ground a bit around it so no one could see it fromthe road; but you'd have this huge greenhouse and building. Heating and cooling would be easywith the steel building underground like that. Drill your water well right underneath or next to it with 40 acres you don't have to get water rights in Colorado. You just get a permit and dig a wellfor household use and irrigating up to an acre of garden.

This is an excellent location for lots of postapocalyptic scenarios. I don't think there's anything

nearby that's worth pointing a nuke at. NORAD is on the other side of a huge range ofmountains. This gigantic valley is surrounded on all sides by the Rockies, so the hordes won't bewandering in, let alone zombies. You'll always have fresh water coming off the peaks, andfiltering through the sandy soils. You and your loved ones will have plenty to eat and drink withaquaponics in a greenhouse grow fish in a tank or pond and the fish water feeds the plants.Totally independent and offgrid with your solar.

And if doomsday never happens, you're still fine! Property taxes are super cheap here, and thearea is super interesting. The acreage is bordered on the West by a huge tract of BLM land. Sopronghorn antelope hunting would certainly be a possibility. That border is also fenced, so you're25% of the way there already if you want to have animals. Right now, cattle wander around asit's not fenced. But I wouldn't plan on having more than a couple on this natural vegetation. Lotsof sage, cactus, and some tufts of grass. There's a ton of farms in the San Luis Valley, but theypretty much are all irrigated. Precipitation is very low.

Pictures are of the view standing on a little hill on the property. That's right it's not totally flat likeit seems in the pictures. I'll attach a pic of the hill if this lets me attach five pix. The pictures are ofthe view East, North (with Sand Dunes National Park in view), West, and South. As you can see,the views are absolutely amazing. This ginormous deserty valley in the middle of the ColoradoRockies!
