ultimately retiring the legacy system, and bringing automated customization at all levels. A team of more than 100 companywide experts are hard at work to automate how product inventory is forecast and allocated to stores based on customer demand. Historically GAP Inc.’s systems have been fragmented and operated off the “average store” concept, resulting in a glut of product in some stores and empty shelves in others.SII is implementing new merchandise planning and distribution technology that will use demand forecasts and real-time sales to plan and replenish the right products and inventory levels to the right stores. The main objective of this project is testing of interfaces that transfer data from legacy database in mainframe to i2 DM’s master tables in oracle and testing of UI which is visible to users for their convenience. ISMART is the white space application used for allocation. ISMART will use the forecast done by i2 DM in deriving the Model stock which will be allocated to the group of stores from DC (Distribution Center). This all is a part of Release 1.5 September.
